EL PASO, TX, June 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fernando Raudales, MD, FASN, FACP, nephrologist with El Paso Kidney Specialists, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the Texas Edition of The Wall Street Journal, published on April 30, 2025.

Hailing from over four decades of expertise in health care, Dr. Raudales has found success in his role as the president and founder of El Paso Kidney Specialists. Bearing a wealth of expertise in nephrology – the study and care of the kidneys – he draws from many years of leadership throughout the industry. Presently, he serves as the medical director for Central City Dialysis, Transmountain Dialysis, and the transplant services department at the Las Palmas Medical Center. Previously, Dr. Raudales availed himself to patients as the chief of staff at Providence Memorial Hospital, where he co-chaired the pharmacy and therapeutics committee, and the Sierra Medical Center, for which he also served as chairperson of the internal medicine department and director of the acute dialysis unit for over a decade.

Dr. Raudales was inspired to become involved in health care due to the influence of his father, who also served as a physician, and his aunt — the first woman in his family to practice medicine. Studying locally in his home country of Honduras, he received a Bachelor of Science in 1970 before proceeding to the University of Honduras School of Medicine, from which he earned a Doctor of Medicine, summa cum laude, in 1979. As part of his specialization in the field, he has been certified via the American Board of Internal Medicine and in nephrology and hypertension by the American Heart Association.

Prior to his current work in medicine, Dr. Raudales served as a member of the United States Army from 1982 to 1992, during which time he rose to the rank of major. Well-regarded for his sense of civic virtue, he has maintained affiliation with the Baptist Free Clinic since 2005. Proud to have remained active in the El Paso community, which strives to improve access to much-needed services every year, Dr. Raudales has long sought to leverage his medical background on behalf of those around him.

To remain aware of developments affecting his field, Dr. Raudales has maintained professional alignment with a number of pertinent organizations. Among them, he is a member of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the American Society of Nephrology, and the International Society of Nephrology. He is also a former president of the El Paso Medical Society and is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hypertension, and the American Heart Association. As a further testament to his dedication, Dr. Raudales has contributed several articles on the subject of hypertension to numerous medical publications.

Though his professional journey has been filled with memorable moments, Dr. Raudales is most proud to have kept a local kidney program running during a period of transition in hospital ownership. Likewise, he is gratified by the efforts of his two sons, who are following in his footsteps to become medical practitioners. In accounting for his success, Dr. Raudales largely credits the love and encouragement of his family.

Outside of his professional endeavors, Dr. Raudales enjoys traveling, spending time with his family, and various sports activities. Looking toward the future, he hopes to continue availing himself on behalf of patients until his retirement. In offering his advice to the next generation of doctors, he hopes that young practitioners enshrine the importance of providing excellent care rather than worrying about insurance and whether patients are covered.
