STATE COLLEGE, PA, June 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mahesh Bhardwaj has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mahesh is a distinguished figure in materials science, renowned for his pioneering work in ultrasound technology. As the founder and chief technology officer of The Ultran Group, he has dedicated over 45 years to advancing the capabilities of ultrasound applications, particularly as it relates to transducers and related systems for non-destructive testing materials. Since 1977, Mahesh has focused on research and development, including in areas of ultrasound-assisted therapeutic, surgical and other applications, as well as high-power ultrasound physico-chemical materials alteration, and other areas of the field since the launch of his company. He has also provided invaluable advice and support on frequency, dimensions and application-specific requirements.

Throughout his tenure as an entrepreneur, Mahesh's most notable achievement was the development of Non-Contact Ultrasound Technology in 1998, which revolutionized the industry by eliminating the need for liquid couplants between transducers and test materials. This breakthrough has had significant implications for both ultrasound and materials science.

Mahesh taught at Kent State University from 1970 until 1972, and he was a graduate student at The Pennsylvania State University from 1967 to 1970. During this time, he researched high-temperature and high-pressure phase transformations of germanium and alkali halides alongside another professor. He also established a laboratory at the Materials Research Laboratory on campus, which was instrumental in his subsequent research endeavors.

Between 1973 and 1977, Mahesh served as a research scientist at the Glass Research Center of PPG Industries Inc., where he honed his expertise in chemical reactions, thermal transpiration and ultrasound materials testing, and other areas of the field.

Mahesh's academic background laid a strong foundation for his professional achievements. He earned a bachelor's degree in chemistry and physics in 1965 and a Master of Science, with honors, in 1966 from Punjab University in India. He subsequently completed coursework toward a doctorate in materials science at Pennsylvania State University. Mahesh's education has shaped his approach as an obsessive scientist and experimentalist who values hands-on experimentation over theoretical reliance.

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Mahesh has made significant contributions to civic organizations. Together with his late wife, he supported two local women's resource centers dedicated to helping battered and abused women. His commitment to community service reflects his broader dedication to societal well-being.

Mahesh's scholarly contributions include authoring "Contact-Free Ultrasound: The Final Frontier in Non-Destructive Materials Characterization" and contributing articles to professional journals available through The Ultran Group's publications platform.

Throughout his illustrious career, Mahesh has remained committed to pushing the boundaries of scientific exploration. His early contributions earned him recognition as a Gold Medalist in geology/geosciences during his master's program in India.
