ARLINGTON, VA, June 02, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Gina M. Grosso, Lt, General, USAF Retired has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Grosso has had a distinguished career spanning over three decades in the U.S. Air Force, culminating in her role as deputy chief of staff for manpower, personnel and services from 2015 to 2018. In this capacity, she was responsible for overseeing the human resources and service functions of the Air Force, ensuring that personnel policies and programs were effectively implemented. Prior to this, Ms. Grosso excelled as the director of the Air Force Sexual Assault Prevention and Response program from 2014 to 2015, where she played a pivotal role in establishing an office dedicated to addressing sexual misconduct within the military.

From 2012 to 2014, Ms. Grosso served as the director of force management policy, where she helped define workforce protocols for the Air Force. Her earlier role as director of manpower, organization and resources from 2011 to 2012 further solidified her expertise in organizational efficiency. As the commander of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst and the 87th Air Base Wing from 2009 to 2011, Ms. Grosso was one of the first joint base commanders globally; she remains proud to have successfully integrated multiple military services on a single installation, fostering collaboration and trust among different branches, and she counts this as a notable career achievement.

Ms. Grosso initiated her military career in 1986 as a U.S. Air Force officer, where she first applied her skills in operations research and analytics to test the new cluster bomb in Las Vegas desert. This early experience forged the foundation for her interest in people analytics, which she pursued during her tenure at a major command's headquarters during the Gulf War era. During this period, Ms. Grosso leveraged her distinct analytical skills—enhanced through her background in mathematics—to assess promotions, casualty statistics and other critical personnel data, which proved both rewarding and impactful.

After retiring from the Air Force in 2018, Ms. Grosso transitioned to the private sector with Golden Key Group, a woman-owned small business where she collaborated to generate successful proposals and gained valuable insights into operations. Her nonpartisan stance led to her appointment as the Assistant Secretary for Human Resources, Administration and Operations, Security, and Preparedness at the Department of Veterans Affairs from June 2021 to December 2023. Currently, Ms. Grosso works part-time with a service-disabled veteran-owned small business while also serving on a Defense Advisory Committee focused on preventing sexual misconduct.

Ms. Grosso's exceptional academic credentials include a Bachelor of Applied Science in applied mathematics and industrial management from Carnegie Mellon University, which she completed in 1986, and a Master of Business Administration with a minor in statistics from William and Mary dating to 1992. She subsequently earned a master's degree from the Naval Command and Staff College dating in 1999, and in 2005, Ms. Grosso accepted a fellowship from Harvard University's Weatherhead Center for International Affairs in national security policy studies.

Beyond her professional achievements, Ms. Grosso remains actively engaged in civic service. She is a regular donor to Doctors Without Borders and a volunteer at food kitchens. Ms. Grosso is proud to have been recognized for her contributions throughout her career, including an honorary Doctorate of Public Service from Carnegie Mellon University in 2023 and a Meritorious Service Award from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

Ms. Grosso is driven to be a positive influence on society through volunteer work, and she remains open to contributing her skills to governmental initiatives. She also values spending quality time with her family, which includes two stepdaughters, and Ms. Grosso will persist in seeking the ideal balance between personal, professional and community endeavors.
