One of Ms. Charne's most significant professional accomplishments was her role in the passage of the Texas House Bill 1649 in 2023, which mandates insurance companies to cover fertility preservation for cancer patients. Ms. Charne was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma shortly after graduating from law school, but when she sought fertility preservation before starting chemotherapy, her insurance provider denied coverage stating it was not "medically necessary."

Ms. Charne deeply understood the emotional and financial toll of such a decision, and worked to change the law because she wanted to ensure individuals undergoing cancer treatment would not have to face the significant financial barriers she did to preserve her right to a family.

Following her passion for becoming a lawyer, Ms. Charne's career began as a legal assistant at the Law Office of Kleinhans Gruber PLLC. She then served as a legal intern in the mental health division of the Dallas County Public Defender's Office. Over the next decade, Ms. Charne garnered experience in various legal roles, including as an attorney at LevatoLaw and as an attorney at Vorzimer Masserman.

Ms. Charne graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and philosophy, with honors, from the University of Texas at Austin and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of San Diego. Her academic achievements have been recognized through numerous scholarships and awards, including the USD Law Student Leader Scholarship, and multiple honor awards for national moot court competitions.

Among her accolades, Ms. Charne gave a TED Talk titled "Redefining the F Word: Why Fertility Should Be a Right, Not a Privilege," where she shared her personal journey and called for urgent reform in fertility access and insurance coverage. Ms. Charne was also named as a nominee for the Woman of the Year by The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
