A certified executive chef, he recently retired from Marriott-Sodexo in 2024 after an impressive tenure that spanned over 30 years.

GARNERVILLE, NY, June 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Michael A. Posid has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Posid's illustrious career in the culinary arts is marked by a series of significant achievements and contributions to the field. As a certified executive chef, he recently retired from Marriott-Sodexo in 2024 after an impressive tenure that spanned over 30 years. Mr. Posid's career with Marriott-Sodexo spanned from 1988 to 2021, during which he held various roles, including executive chef II at Novartis Consumer Health from 2013 to 2017. His tenure at Sodexo Corporate Services between 1988 to 2021 saw him excel in multiple capacities, including as an executive chef at the Christian Health Care Center from 2010 to 2012.

During his previous role at Montefiore Nyack Hospital between 2017 and 2024, Mr. Posid gained experience as an executive chef II, where he continued refining his culinary skills and contributing to the institution's success. He then served as the executive chef for its food and nutrition department, where he was pivotal in upgrading the quality of hospital food, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, by incorporating fresh proteins, meats, and vegetables into the patients and executive menus. Mr. Posid's menu writing and development expertise has been instrumental in enhancing food quality and efficiency across various establishments.

Before his retirement, Mr. Posid also served as a caretaker for his wife from 2021 to present, while working as a certified independent health coach with Optavia from 2022 to 2024. As such, he was able to leverage his expertise in the food sector to teach clients proper nutrition, healthy menu choices, and the instruction in maintaining desired weight.

Mr. Posid's early career included roles as a sous chef and cook in various restaurants from 1981 to 1984. He also had the opportunity to work for the Hilton Hotel System from 1984 to 1988 as an executive sous chef. During this time he was introduced to ice carving. He carved over 200 ice sculptures over his career.

Mr. Posid's foundation was laid at The Culinary Institute of America, where he earned an Associate of Occupational Studies in culinary arts in 1981. This education provided him with the professional grounding necessary for his subsequent achievements. Mr. Posid also completed numerous professional credentials, including ServSafe certification from the National Restaurant Association and master classes with renowned chefs such as Marcus Samuelsson and Steven Rose. Mr. Posid's dedication to health and nutrition was further exemplified by his certification as a health coach.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Posid has been actively involved in civic activities and creative projects. He has served as a resident chef for Valentine's and CareNet Banquets at a local church for over a decade and has contributed annually to the Blue Jean Ball volunteer event with Sodexo Corporate Services since 2004-2006. Earlier in his career, Mr. Posid participated in three James Beard House luncheons in the late 1990s, showcasing his culinary talents on prestigious platforms.
