For over 17 years, along with her business partner, Dr. Ware Edwards has overseen the company's operations ensuring the sustainability, growth and development of the company. Her leadership extends to supervising budding clinicians, guiding them toward independent practice while maintaining high standards of patient care. Doing the Work Within Psychological Services, LLC specializes in providing therapeutic support to children, adolescents and adults, to include individual, group, family, couples and play therapy. Her expertise in clinical psychology is complemented by her commitment to operational excellence and her own personal leadership training and development.

Dr. Ware Edwards is the founder of My Sage Haven Therapy and Consulting, LLC which is where she provides direct patient care and delivers local and national talks on wellbeing, trauma informed (healing informed) practices, mental health literacy, and the like.

In addition to her work with DWW Psychological Services, LLC and My Sage Haven Therapy and Consulting, LLC, Dr. Ware Edwards currently serves as the executive director of the MedStar Georgetown Center for Wellbeing in School Environments and has since 2021. Her tenure at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital (MGUH) began in 2014 when she worked as a clinical psychologist in the department of community pediatrics. She therapeutically supported youth (and their families) who attended Anacostia High School or who were serviced on the KIDS Mobile Medical Clinic. She continues to hold joint credentialing with both the departments of psychiatry and community pediatrics at MGUH as an associate professor of clinical psychiatry. Before assuming her role as executive director of the WISE Center, for three years, she was the director of clinical training (for psychology and social work) within the department of psychiatry at MGUH.

Dr. Ware Edwards's career is characterized by several other impactful roles, including her time as the co-principal and director of intervention at Kingsman Academy Public Charter School in Washington, D.C., as well as the director of clinical services at a public charter school in DC. Further, she has served as a board member for another public charter school in DC. Dr. Ware Edwards has a clear track record of providing excellent care to both patients and organizations with whom she serves. Additionally, she has committed her life's work to serving communities that have been historically marginalized.

Among other noteworthy events, Dr. Ware Edwards was a recent inductee (2025) into the BOW Collective, an organization that supports and uplifts Black women-owned businesses by providing awareness, business opportunities, and capital resources.

Dr. Ware Edwards's academic foundation is robust, having initially graduated with a Bachelor of Science in psychology, magna cum laude, from Morgan State University in 2000, followed by a Master of Arts in clinical psychology, culminating in a Doctor of Psychology in clinical psychology, summa cum laude, in 2006 from the American School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Ware Edwards holds the belief in the importance of cultivating and caring for your "craft" and because of that she completed post graduate/post licensure training at the Washington School of Psychiatry, and she continues to learn in her personal supervision, consultation, and leadership coaching.

Her dedication to education has been recognized with a Teaching Award from Georgetown University for the 2023-2024 academic year. Dr. Ware Edwards attributes her success to her unwavering commitment to patient care, teamwork and partnerships, drawing inspiration from her parents' strong work ethic.
