Before his current position, Mr. Dilger served as a Senior Principal Engineer at Dell Technologies from 2005 to 2018. In this capacity, he honed his skills in Development and Operations (DevOps), building Continuous Integration and Test system for the VNXe, Unity and PowerStore products. Mr. Dilger also garnered expertise as a DevOp and Senior Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Optovia between 2004 and 2005.

Mr. Dilger's career began as a Software Quality Assurance Engineer at Hell Graphics, learning about networking through the support and deployment of proprietary pagination systems. He used the experience in networking in his next role at Teleglobe from 1990 to 1993, participating in the commissioning of the first trans-Atlantic fiber optic cable known as TAT-9. He then advanced to become a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer at Shiva Corporation between 1993 and 1998, working on the first remote access products in the industry, followed by a role as an Integration Manager at Fujitsu Network Communications from 1998 to 2001. Mr. Dilger's subsequent tenure at Terapulse as a Software Quality Assurance Release Engineer between 2001 and 2004 further solidified his reputation as an expert in quality assurance and integration based on developing an early version of what is now known as Continuous Integration and Test.

Mr. Dilger's educational background included coursework at Rivier College in 1988 and the University of Massachusetts Lowell from 1990 to 1992. He also pursued executive education programs, earning certifications from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard Business School Executive Education in technical leadership and learning summits. Additionally, Mr. Dilger holds a Scrum Master certification, which has enhanced his ability to lead teams effectively.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Dilger is an active member of the Internet Engineering Task Force, where he contributes to the advancement of Internet standards and protocols.
