WEST COVINA, CA, June 10, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Cheryl Young has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Young has established a distinguished career in records management and information governance, marked by her expertise and dedication to the field. Since 2014, she has been serving as a senior project manager, IGP and an information governance project manager at Western Integrated Systems. In these roles, she has demonstrated her proficiency in identifying unofficial repositories of records within companies, a skill that has become increasingly vital due to the rise of remote work during the COVID-19 pandemic. Her ability to track and manage these records ensures that organizations maintain compliance and mitigate potential legal risks.

Ms. Young's journey in records management began in 1984 when she joined TAB Products Co LLC as a sales representative. Her career trajectory took her through various roles, including project manager positions at Document Control Solutions, a division of Smead Manufacturing and Smead Manufacturing Company, Inc., where she honed her skills in developing software for managing and labeling records. Her tenure at Océ Business Services, later acquired by Canon, saw her transition into consulting where she worked with prominent companies such as Boeing, ExxonMobil, General Electric (GE) Power and Water, GE Capital and Royale. This experience provided her with a comprehensive understanding of diverse industry practices.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Young has been an active member of the Orange County Chapter of the Association of Records Managers and Administrators (ARMA) International since 1994. She has served as the president twice and the treasurer once and currently holds a position on the board of directors. Her commitment to the organization extends to engaging younger generations interested in records management and increasing membership post-COVID-19. As a guest lecturer at California State University, she shares her insights on records management and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence.

Ms. Young's academic background includes a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California (UC) Riverside, completed in 1980 and coursework in public relations and image management at the University of California, Los Angeles in 1982. These educational experiences have equipped her with a strong foundation for understanding human behavior and effective communication—skills that have been instrumental in her consulting work.

Ms. Young's professional certifications further underscore her expertise. She holds an information governance professional certification from ARMA International, obtained in 2019 and is a certified technical trainer through CompTIA. These credentials reflect her commitment to staying abreast of industry developments and enhancing her capabilities.

Beyond her professional life, Ms. Young is deeply involved in civic activities. She supports TreePeople, an organization dedicated to planting trees in Southern California—a cause she champions by planting a tree for every flight taken during her extensive travels with Océ and Canon. Additionally, she is affiliated with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals and the John Muir Society.

Ms. Young's achievements have been recognized through numerous awards, including Chapter Person of the Year from the Orange County Chapter of ARMA International and accolades from Canon. As a UC Regents Scholar from UC Riverside, she exemplifies academic excellence alongside her professional accomplishments.

Looking ahead, Ms. Young aspires to mentor others in the field of records management while continuing her involvement with ARMA International. Her passion for planting trees remains a personal interest that aligns with her broader commitment to environmental sustainability.
