Ms. Ambrusch excels as a Regional Director at Ware Malcomb, a contemporary and expanding full-service design firm that caters to commercial and corporate real estate. Since 2024, she has overseen the operations of the Washington, DC office, managed forecasting, and generated revenue across the office's various practice area verticals. She has had a most notable impact on the Science and Technology division, managing most of its projects, one of which won the 2023 NAIOP MD | DC Best Life Science Facility Award of Excellence.
Ms. Ambrusch joined Ware Malcomb in 2021 as a Project Manager before advancing to Studio Manager for the Science and Technology division in 2022. By 2023, she became the Director of Science and Technology before assuming her current role as Regional Director. In addition to her primary career endeavors, Ms. Ambrusch contributes to the industry by writing a monthly column for Lab Design News and articles for Lab Manager.
Ms. Ambrusch declared she wanted to be an architect at the age of five, and began her professional journey by securing her first architectural job as a student. In 2013, she was acquired by Ronette Riley Architect on the 74th floor of the Empire State Building in New York City, marking the beginning of her professional path. Ms. Ambrusch worked as an Architectural Designer at the firm until 2018, working on a wide array of project types and responsibilities. Additionally, she garnered success at FCA in 2018 as a Staff Architect and LSY Architects & Planners as an Architectural Designer from 2020 to 2021.
Ms. Ambrusch's academic background includes a Bachelor of Architecture with Minors in Architectural History and Kinesiology from The Pennsylvania State University, coursework in urban design at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Master of Architecture in Urban Design from Harvard University in the Graduate School of Design. Additionally, Ms. Ambrusch had the opportunity to participate in a study abroad program at The Pantheon Institute in Rome.
Ms. Ambrusch is a member of several industry-related organizations, including the International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, for which she is an industry mentor, and the American Institute of Architects. She began getting involved in societies as a student, including the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Additionally, Ms. Ambrusch has been affiliated with the Vitruvius Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi since 2010, serving as Historian, Secretary, and THON chair. Civically invested, she currently engages with and supports the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
Among numerous professional achievements, Ms. Ambrusch's collegiate and post-graduate work received recognition. Her third-year studio project was chosen for presentation to the City of Pittsburgh for possible implementation by the PSU College of Arts and Architecture in 2012, and a second project was used for National Architectural Accrediting Board accreditation in the spring of 2014. Ms. Ambrusch also received several awards, such as the Dwight D. Eisenhower Outstanding Leader of Character Award and the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizen Award.
Eager to enhance the development of Ware Malcomb's Washington, DC office and its presence in the industry by cultivating the Science and Technology sector on the East Coast and, more broadly, Ms. Ambrusch's vision includes expanding Science and Technology initiatives.
