Mrs. Gurney's early career in finance includes her tenure at Texas Bank and Trust as an assistant vice president and portfolio manager of lending from 2020 to 2021. During this time, she realized she had a passion for commercial lending and the right contacts to be successful in the industry.

Before joining the banking industry, Mrs. Gurney worked in commercial real estate construction and development as the finance manager at Bright Realty from 2018 to 2020. She joined the company in 2016 as a financial analyst, marking her initial foray into the financial sector. In this capacity, she managed all budgetary aspects of the developments, drawing on experience gained at Skorburg Company, where she served as an associate vice president of finance and operations in 2016.

Mrs. Gurney has experience with horizontal and vertical development in a multitude of asset classes, including single-family homes, townhouses, condos, duplexes, lots, parcels, multi-family properties, offices, single and multi-tenant retail spaces, industrial properties, self-storage facilities, carwashes, and land.

Mrs. Gurney began her academic journey at Collin College, where she obtained an Associate of Arts in 2012. She continued her studies at Texas Tech University, Rawls College of Business, from which she earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration with a major in finance and a minor in economics in 2014 and a Master of Science in finance in 2015. Additionally, she graduated from the Texas Tech School of Banking in 2015. Mrs. Gurney concluded her educational endeavors on the President's List, graduating with a multitude of honors.

Reflecting on her journey, she attributes her success to her can-do attitude and self-motivation. Known for her contagious energy and intelligence grounded in common sense, she has become a respected figure within her industry.

Beyond her professional endeavors, Mrs. Gurney is actively engaged with civic organizations, such as Tomorrow's Leaders Today (TLT), where she serves as a mentor and honorary advisory board member. She is involved with the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC), and the Texas Tech Alumni Association. Born and raised in Plano, Mrs. Gurney is also involved with the Plano Chamber of Commerce.

In her personal life, Mrs. Gurney cherishes spending time with her husband, son, family and dogs.
