From 1988 to 2021, Ms. Jorgensen held the position of associate athletics director at The University of Akron. Ms. Jorgensen's academic background includes a Master of Music from Morehead State University and two bachelor's degrees from Michigan State University: one in piano pedagogy and another in K-12 music education. These educational accomplishments have provided her with a strong foundation for her roles in leadership and education, allowing her to connect with a diverse range of individuals and immerse herself fully in every position she holds.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Jorgensen is actively involved in several industry-related organizations. She serves as a board member of The Garden Club of Kent and is affiliated with Leadership Akron and Gamma Phi Beta. Her commitment to civic engagement extends to her roles as a member of the Akron Rotary Foundation, board member of the Portage Foundation, board president of the Halo Foundation and involvement with Haven of Rest Akron.

Ms. Jorgensen's personal life is enriched by her love for sports and reading. She is also proud of her daughter, who serves as one of the athletic directors at the University of Oregon. Looking ahead, Ms. Jorgensen envisions elevating St. Vincent-St. Mary High School by expanding its curriculum to include the arts, transforming it into a Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math (STEAM) institution. She also aims to enhance its philanthropic efforts and strengthen ties with The University of Akron, particularly in supporting its athletics department.
