SEATTLE, WA, June 12, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karl Ege has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Ege's outstanding career of more than 50 years is marked by a series of significant roles and contributions to the legal and business communities. Currently serving as Of Counsel at Perkins Coie LLP with a focus on investment management, securities regulation and corporate law and governance, he continues to leverage his extensive law experience. He was also Senior Counsel at the firm from 2008 to 2023. Though his career counts many individual milestones, he strives to share credit with others and highlights the unsung heroes throughout the legal field and his community.

Before joining Perkins Coie, Mr. Ege held the position of Chief Legal Officer at Russell Investments in Tacoma, Washington from 1992 to 2007. During his tenure at Russell, he played a pivotal role in shaping the company's legal strategies and governance practices and in developing Russell's investment management and advisory business in international markets. Additionally, he served on the company's executive committee and board of directors from 1992 to 1999 and was its Vice Chairman and Senior Adviser from 2007 to 2008. His many contributions and dedication to excellence at Russell Investments and the community at large saw him recognized with the Heart and Soul Award.

Mr. Ege's storied legal journey began at Bogle & Gates in Seattle, Washington, where he worked from 1972 to 1991. Starting as an associate and ascending through the firm, he became a partner in 1978 and served as chair of the Corporate Finance and Securities Group from 1988 to 1991. As a partner, he was instrumental in bringing a New York-style practice to the firm and became a trusted advisor for significant corporate matters.

Before venturing onto his legal path, Mr. Ege completed military service as a captain in the United States Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969, during which he served in Vietnam as an artillery forward observer and battalion fire support officer. He also worked as a college recruiter, encouraging young men to become officers in the Marine Corps rather than being drafted. Recognized for his outstanding service to his country, he was awarded a Bronze Star and Combat Action Ribbon as well as a Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry.

Constantly seeking to achieve both personal and professional growth, Mr. Ege pursued an equally robust education. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with honors from Princeton University in 1965, followed by an MBA in finance and management from Martin J. Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University in 1970. His legal education culminated with a Juris Doctor with distinction from Cornell Law School in 1972, during which he further honed his skills as the managing editor of Cornell Law Review. His academic accomplishments — complemented by the guidance of mentors, and his own unwavering dedication to hard work and integrity — have played a significant role in his success.

Mr. Ege's influence extends beyond his professional roles to his involvement with various industry-related organizations. He was recognized as a fellow of the American College of Governance Counsel in 2015 and has held several leadership positions within the American Bar Association, including as Chair of the Business Law Section and Chair of the Corporate Laws Committee. Notably, he was a founder and later Chair of the Association's Mergers and Acquisitions Committee, which has significantly enhanced the quality of mergers and acquisitions work both within the United States and in international markets.

In addition to his career endeavors, Mr. Ege is passionate about serving his community. He has served as president of both the Seattle Rotary Club and The Rainier Club and has been a board member of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center and is currently a member of the council of the Institute for Prostate Cancer Research.

On a personal note, Mr. Ege was born in New York and enjoys spending time with his family, hiking, biking and refinishing furniture. As a happily married man and a proud father of a daughter, a son, and two stepdaughters, he cherishes his family as an integral part of his life. Looking to the future with optimism, he hopes to continue making a meaningful impact through his legal expertise and passion for community involvement.
