An esteemed figure in the field of nephrology for more than four decades, Dr. Raudales was influenced to pursue a career in medicine by his father Asdrubal, a trusted physician in his native home of Honduras, as well as his aunt, who was the first female physician in the country at the time. Often traveling alongside his father on his patient visits during his youth, he found a great deal of satisfaction in helping care for the patients and assisting his father, however little he could. Later, he formally forged his own path at the Alfonso Guillén Zelaya Institute Educational Center, from which he obtained a Bachelor of Science in 1970. Ultimately, Dr. Raudales would conclude his academic efforts at University of Honduras School of Medicine, graduating with a Doctor of Medicine, summa cum laude, in 1980.

Soon thereafter, Dr. Raudales furthered his medical training at the Mount Sinai Hospital in Chicago, Illinois, and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas, from which he earned his certifications in internal medicine and nephrology. Discovering his passion for treating nephrology with a specific interest in transplantation and treating hypertension, he has practiced with El Paso Kidney Specialists as a nephrologist, co-founder and consultant since 1987, roles which involve providing on-site care at local hospitals. In this position, Dr. Raudales remains a steadfast advocate for advancing kidney care in the region, including maintaining the local kidney program in spite of recent challenges to its operation.

In addition to his primary roles at El Paso Kidney Specialists, Dr. Raudales serves as the medical director for both Transmountain Dialysis and Central City Dialysis, posts he has held since 2013 and 1993, respectively. During this time, he has likewise utilized his leadership skills as the chief of staff at Providence Memorial Hospital in 1997 and Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, in 1998, the latter of which also appointed him as the chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine from 2001 to 2003. Returning to the former post between 2008 and 2009, Dr. Raudales has been additionally active as the medical director for transplant services at the Las Palmas Medical Center since 2009 and the co-chairman of the pharmacy and therapeutics committee for Sierra Providence Health Network since 2003.

Dr. Raudales' impact on his field has previously been felt through the Sierra Medical Center in El Paso, to which he was recruited as medical director from 1991 to 2001, the Sierra Providence Health Network, for which he operated as vice-chairman from 1999 to 2001, and the End Stage Renal Disease Network, which appointed him to their medical review board from 2001 to 2007. He has likewise provided his wealth of expertise as a medical executive at the Providence Memorial Hospital since 1998 and the Baptist Free Clinic since 2005. Dr. Raudales' commitment to his discipline is further exemplified by his status as a fellow of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hypertension, and the American Heart Association.

The former president of the El Paso Medical Society, Dr. Raudales has contributed as a member of the El Paso chapter of the American Medical Association, the Texas Medical Association, the International Society of Nephrology, and the American Society of Nephrology. He had also authored articles and reviews for Hypertension, a leading publication in his specialty, in 2001. Beyond the clinical setting, he notably served in the U.S. Army between 1982 and 1992, a tenure in which he rose to the rank of major in 1990. As a testament to his hard work and dedication, Dr. Raudales garnered his certifications from the American Board of Internal Medicine in 1996 and 2006, in nephrology and hypertersion from the ASH Specialists Program of the American Heart Association in 2016, and as an interventionalist in vascular access from American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology.

Dr. Raudales's career is marked by a number of significant achievements, including his decades-spanning involvement with El Paso Kidney Specialists, his versatile work at hospitals and clinics over the years, and his features in Forbes, The Wall Street Journal, and Millennium Magazine. Furthermore, he is incredibly proud of his distinction as the Best Student at University of Honduras School of Medicine and his ability to make a difference in a vulnerable community. Dr. Raudales is grateful for the support he received from his parents as well as his family, which includes his loving wife of more than 45 years, Blanca; his three children; and his five grandchildren.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Dr. Raudales cherishes the time spent with family, particularly enjoying travel and sports activities with his grandchildren. In the coming years, he hopes to continue supporting his sons, who are studying at a medical school based out of New York. Dr. Raudales also aims to retire and dedicate more time to his grandchildren in the near future.
