EDEN PRAIRIE, MN, June 11, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Oona M. Myhre, MEd, has been included in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.
Ms. Myhre is a dynamic force in early learning innovation. Fueled by a deep passion to elevate the early childhood sector, she launched The Earliest Edge in 2025. As the company's founder and executive consultant, she draws on over two decades of experience to provide strategic guidance, professional development and licensing support to preschool professionals and school leaders nationwide. Her firm offers customized services focused on resource development, instructional coaching and sustainable program growth for early learning environments.
In 2025, Ms. Myhre also authored "The Earliest Edge: Why the First Five Years Are Everyone's Business," a compelling book that amplifies her mission to reframe how society views early childhood education. Blending research, personal insight and practical strategies, the book highlights the critical role the early years play in shaping lifelong success and calls on families, educators and policymakers to invest in the earliest stages of development. Through this work, Ms. Myhre seeks to inspire collective action and elevate the conversation around what it means to give children the best possible start.
Prior to founding her business, Ms. Myhre served as the director of preschool excellence at the Catholic Schools Center of Excellence (CSCOE) from 2023 to 2024. In this statewide leadership role, she led initiatives to enhance preschool quality across more than 130 Catholic schools in Minnesota. Her achievements included launching a monthly newsletter, developing a centralized communication hub for preschool directors and distributing grant funding to schools. She also piloted the Catalyst Approach to promote positive behavior support in early childhood classrooms.
Before advancing to her directorial role, Ms. Myhre served as manager of preschool excellence and enrollment at CSCOE from 2022 to 2023. She expanded support services to all Catholic preschools across the state, conducted annual surveys to assess needs and created targeted implementation plans. Her work directly contributed to increased enrollment and strengthened the infrastructure of early education programs statewide.
Ms. Myhre's earlier contributions include her tenure at St. Hubert Catholic School from 2017 to 2022. Hired initially to open a toddler program, she was soon promoted to preschool director, overseeing six classrooms and leading a full-scale program transformation that generated substantial revenue growth. A highlight of her leadership was the creation of a dedicated gross motor laboratory, emphasizing the critical connection between physical development and kindergarten readiness.
Before joining St. Hubert, Ms. Myhre held teaching positions at several respected institutions, including Especially for Children from 2015 to 2017, Kinderberry Hill Child Development Centers from 2014 to 2015 and Puddle Jumpers Child Care Center from 2005 to 2011. These roles gave her a solid foundation in curriculum development, licensing compliance and classroom best practices.
Ms. Myhre's academic credentials reflect her dedication to the profession. She earned her Bachelor of Science in early childhood education with a minor in special education from Southwest Minnesota State University, graduating summa cum laude in 2013. She continued at the same institution to obtain her Master of Arts in education: teaching, learning, and leadership in 2022. She also holds a Minnesota birth–grade 3 teaching license and earned her director credential from the Minnesota Association for the Education of Young Children (MnAEYC) in 2019.
An accomplished author and content developer, Ms. Myhre has written a suite of proprietary professional resources that are widely used in the early childhood field. Her signature guides include "Blueprint for Bright Beginnings: Navigating the Path to Kindergarten Success," "Blueprint for Boosting Preschool Enrollment," "Show Them Your Best," "Preschool Professionalism Companion," "Guide to Planning and Executing Successful Preschool–Kindergarten Open Houses" and "Developmentally Appropriate Practices in the Preschool Classroom." She delivers these tools through online portals, webinars and live workshops, equipping educators and leaders to deliver high-quality, developmentally appropriate instruction.
In addition to her professional work, Ms. Myhre is civically engaged. She supports early childhood advocacy initiatives and volunteers with organizations such as the Greater Minneapolis Crisis Nursery. Personally, she enjoys reading and frequent visits to Florida with her husband.
Looking ahead, Ms. Myhre plans to expand The Earliest Edge into a nationally recognized brand with a global impact. Her vision includes curating a comprehensive library of resources for preschool professionals and becoming a thought leader in early childhood education and leadership.
