With 30 years in his current role, he has become an expert in bankruptcy, real estate, wills and probate law. His commitment to helping clients navigate complex legal processes, particularly through the intricacies of bankruptcy proceedings, is evident in his work. One of his most notable achievements was successfully representing a client against a federal loan servicer and the Department of Education to secure her public service loan forgivness, winning both at trial and on appeal. His career began after he earned his Juris Doctor from the University of South Carolina Joseph F. Rice School of Law in 1981. His academic background also includes a bachelor's degree in economics from Wofford College, which he received in 1976.

Beyond his legal practice, Mr. Steadman serves on the advisory committee for the paralegal program at a local technical college and has served as an adjunct professor.
