His career began in the Hazelwood School District from 1999 to 2002, where he first took on the responsibilities of a band director, setting the stage for his long-standing career in music education.

Mr. Dunsford's educational background includes a bachelor's degree in music education from the University of Missouri, earned in 1999. He also completed coursework at the University of Central Missouri and Johnson County Community College. These academic achievements provided him with a solid foundation in music education, enabling him to inspire and guide his students effectively. Despite facing struggles and skepticism early in his career, his perseverance and dedication allowed him to overcome those challenges.

Throughout his career, Mr. Dunsford has been recognized for his contributions to education. He was honored as Teacher of the Year for the 2024-2025 school year within his district, an accolade that highlights his impact on students and colleagues alike. Additionally, he was included in Who's Who Among America's Teachers in 2005, further cementing his reputation as an outstanding educator.
