LEXINGTON, MA, June 13, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Richard "Dick" Larson, post-tenure professor with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the April/May 2025 national edition of Fortune magazine.
Acclaimed in operations research, Dr. Richard "Dick" Larson is regarded for his professorship at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, joining its faculty in 1969. He still serves as principal investigator for MIT BLOSSOMS, a global video-oriented mathematical and scientific educational program. His research pioneered the Queue Inference Engine and the Hypercube Queueing Model. His book "Urban Police Patrol Analysis" yielded models utilized by the Department of Justice and garnered the Frederick W. Lanchester Prize from the Operations Research Society of America. With co-author Prof. Amedeo Odoni, in 1981, he published "Urban Operations Research." In 2023, he penned "Model Thinking for Everyday Life."
