HINCKLEY, OH, June 16, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Emily Johannes has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Johannes has established a distinguished career in the environmental and agricultural sectors, currently serving as director of partnership development at Farm Journal Inc. In this role, she connects farmers with valuable partners throughout the agricultural value chain to simplify the adoption of environmentally friendly farming practices. She primarily engages with stakeholders who provide services, products or technology solutions to promote collaboration, profitability and sustainability. She also serves as the primary contact for partners and clients and gives guidance on insights based on millions of farmer-generated data points that inform content and accelerate environmental improvement.

In addition to her primary position, Ms. Johannes has owned the Anchor Inn Boutique Hotel in Put-In-Bay, Ohio, since 2023. Concurrent with these roles from 2020 to 2025, she was director of sustainability and recycling at Nestlé USA after serving as senior manager of sustainable sourcing for one year and category manager of ethical sourcing for the preceding year at the same company.

Ms. Johannes' career began in government service, where she spent a decade focusing on environmental work related to federal operations. She worked as a senior environmental technical adviser at NOAA from 2010 to 2012 and as a NEPA specialist for the previous two years. Her early career included roles as a science and policy analyst at The Clark Group LLC for two years and an environmental protection specialist at Michael Baker Jr for three years. She started her professional journey as an aquatic ecologist at The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy from 2002 to 2003.

Ms. Johannes discovered her love of agriculture and working with farmers during her career while working at Pinion (formerly called K-Coe Isom). After a colleague recognized her potential to serve the industry, she pivoted to working in dairy, despite having no background in agriculture. Overall, she emphasizes the role of this colleague and other mentors like her who advocated for her and encouraged her insightfulness and drive. Now paying that mentorship forward, she considers her relationships with her mentees and their success to be her most notable achievement.

Academically, Ms. Johannes is pursuing a postgraduate certificate in food marketing from Haub School of Business at Saint Joseph's University in 2019, received a Master of Science in ecology and evolution from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002 and a Bachelor of Arts in zoology from Miami University in 2000. Complementing these degrees, she also holds an international executive program certification on sustainable sourcing and trade from the International Trade Centre, obtained in 2021.

Furthering her expertise, Ms. Johannes is actively involved with several industry-related organizations, including the U.S. Roundtable for Sustainable Beef and the U.S. Dairy Sustainability Alliance. Her dedication also extends to her civic work as she has served on the board of directors for the Ecosystem Services Market Consortium since 2022, where she was recently elected chair. She also served as a board director for the Circular Action Alliance from 2024 to 2025. She also supports Saving Promise, United Way, and the Humane Society.

Outside her professional commitments, Ms. Johannes enjoys managing her boutique hotel business, traveling extensively across states and countries and caring for her two dogs. Looking ahead, she aims to achieve significant milestones in reducing climate impact through innovative partnerships, reflecting her belief that sustainability begins with people, not processes or land.
