His tenure as the chair and chief executive officer of Funds Management Group was particularly notable for the development of a groundbreaking mathematical model, the Funds Allocation System, designed to optimize bank earnings. This model, which was the first commercial application of mathematical optimization, played a crucial role in supporting prominent clients, including Fannie Mae and the Royal Bank of Canada.

In addition to his work with banks, Mr. Serfaty was involved in sovereign debt restructuring, collaborating with finance ministries in countries such as Venezuela and Mexico during the early 1990s. He has also published numerous articles in financial journals, which have contributed significantly to academic discourse in the field. Additionally, he has become involved in creative works in the film industry, such as originating and co-writing a screenplay about the last sugar tycoon in Cuba. This work intricately weaves personal narratives with historical events, featuring notable figures like Ernest Hemingway.

Mr. Serfaty's success is largely attributed to his passion and determination to make a significant impact in the field of economics.
