Mr. Hartsfield has cultivated a distinguished career as an architect, with a notable tenure at TLM Associates Inc., where he has served as the principal architect since 1989. Initially, he focused on travel and marketing, forging relationships with both new and returning clients. As the firm grew and underwent leadership changes, he transitioned to a greater emphasis on design, ensuring projects were completed seamlessly with the support of his dedicated team. Today, Mr. Hartsfield's portfolio includes a diverse range of projects, from short-term initiatives to large-scale undertakings, such as a significant government office building recently approved by the county commission.

Mr. Hartsfield's professional journey began in the United States Air Force, where he served as a sergeant from 1966 to 1970. His military service included nearly two years stationed in Tripoli, Libya, followed by an assignment at the Officer Candidate School in San Antonio, Texas. After his service, Mr. Hartsfield moved to Tennessee, where he pursued a technical drafting program while working full-time at an industry producing shock absorbers.

At the outset of his career, Mr. Hartsfield pursued an associate degree from Draughons Drafting College, graduating in 1966. Despite financial constraints that prevented him from pursuing a traditional college education, his determination led him to excel in his field. Beyond his education, Mr. Hartsfield attributes his success to hard work, dedication and a commitment to integrity over recognition, a philosophy that has earned him respect and trust within the industry.

As a commitment to his field, Mr. Hartsfield is a proud member of several professional organizations, including the American Institute of Architects and the National Accreditation for Architectural Registration. His involvement extends beyond professional circles; he is also a member of the Jackson Country Club, reflecting his commitment to maintaining high standards in architecture while fostering connections within the community.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Hartsfield has made significant contributions to the health care infrastructure across West and Middle Tennessee. Over two decades ago, he completed 23 county health department projects, many of which have since returned to him for renovations and additions. He is currently overseeing 16 of these projects, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to enhancing community facilities. Mr. Hartsfield's impact extends to education as well, where he has played a pivotal role in numerous projects, including the addition, renovation and construction of elementary and high schools throughout the region.

In his personal life, Mr. Hartsfield cherishes time spent with family and enjoys activities such as golf, bowling, swimming and traveling. He is also deeply committed to civic engagement, serving on the boards of the Carl Perkins Child Abuse Center, the Salvation Army and JONAH, while supporting the American Heart Association Inc. Looking ahead, Mr. Hartsfield envisions dedicating more time to traveling with his wife while continuing to balance work commitments.
