Prior to her current position, Ms. Henry was the president and executive director of the Workforce Development Board of Solano County from 2017 to 2025. During her tenure, she was instrumental in advancing initiatives in emerging industries such as biotechnology and climate transition, as well as promoting upward mobility in health care. Her efforts were recognized with an international award for Career Services Organization of the Year from Corporate Wire, highlighting her significant contributions at the local level.
From 2016 to 2017, Ms. Henry served as vice president of industry engagement and job services at WorkSource Montgomery. Before that, she was the chief innovation officer at Anne Arundel Workforce Development Corp. from 2012 to 2016, where she played a pivotal role in fostering innovative solutions for workforce challenges. Her earlier roles at Anne Arundel included positions in grants and communications, lead employment facilitator and coordinator of educational programs and publications.
Ms. Henry's academic background includes a Master of Arts in world history and a Bachelor of Arts in history, cum laude, both from Mississippi State University and completed in 2003 and 2001 respectively. Her education has been foundational to her career achievements, providing her with a deep understanding of historical contexts that inform her strategic approach to workforce development.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Ms. Henry is actively involved in several industry-related organizations, including the Phi Alpha Theta International Student Association, the National Association of Nonprofit Organizations and Executives, the California Workforce Association, the National Association of Workforce Development Professionals and the Grants Professionals Association. She also serves on the board of Connections for Life and is chair of the board for the Solano Community Foundation.
Ms. Henry has contributed significantly to literature in her field, with works such as "Cultivating Innovation in Workforce Development" in 2016 and co-authoring "Engaging Youth Through Online Means" in 2013. Her contributions extend to various projects through the Workforce Board of Solano County and the Maryland Tech Connection.

Outside of her professional life, Ms. Henry enjoys listening to music, playing the piano, reading, attending community festivals and spending time with her family.
