INDIANAPOLIS, IN, June 24, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Karla Lynn Becker, MS, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Ms. Becker has cultivated a distinguished career spanning four decades in the information technology sector, culminating in her retirement in 2023. Her professional journey began as an English and writing tutor at Indiana University–Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI) from 1980 to 1982. She then served as an associate faculty member at IUPUI for one year and was a technical writer at the School of Engineering and Technology at the same institution, followed by a similar role at Indiana University Bloomington until 1987. Ms. Becker's expertise expanded during her tenure as a management information services consultant, writer, support administrator and computer training coordinator at Simon Property Group for 10 years.

In 1997, Ms. Becker transitioned into the pharmaceutical industry, where she excelled as a system consultant and validation coordinator with Eli Lilly & Co. through Kforce Inc. until 1999. She continued her association with Eli Lilly & Co. as an associate consultant and validation coordinator until 2010. During this period, she also contributed as an associate faculty member at the School of Engineering and Technology at IUPUI from 1994 to 2000. After taking a brief hiatus to care for her family, she returned to the workforce in 2012 as a business systems consultant for the State of Indiana through Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company. Her career further advanced with roles as a validation specialist and lead at Eli Lilly & Co. through Computer Task Group and Tata Consultancy Services from 2012 to 2015.

Later in her career, Ms. Becker's roles continued with positions as a specialist at Roche Diabetes Care through Yoh, A Day & Zimmermann Company from 2015 to 2018 and validation engineer at Labcorp Drug Development until her retirement in 2023. Her dedication to quality assurance is underscored by her certification as a software quality engineer from ASQ-World Headquarters in 2000.

In addition to her IT career, Ms. Becker has made significant contributions to the field of wellness through yoga. Since 2002, she has taught yoga at various centers and health clubs throughout Central Indiana. In 2023, she joined Blossom Yoga + Pilates, where she teaches weekly kundalini yoga classes, leads international retreats, and supports the Peace through Yoga Foundation through ongoing fundraising efforts. Her commitment to yoga is further evidenced by her certifications as a kundalini yoga teacher from the International Kundalini Yoga Teachers Association in 2004 and as a hatha yoga teacher from All People Yoga Center in 2003. Since then, she has completed four of the five modules toward her 500-hour Kundalini Yoga Teacher certification, which she expects to complete in 2026.

Ms. Becker's academic achievements have played a pivotal role in her success. She holds a Master of Science in Education from Indiana University Bloomington, completed in 1986. She completed her Bachelor of Arts in English in 1982 at IUPUI. Overall, she attributes her success to her strong spirituality, the support of her community, her family and friends and her relationship with God.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Ms. Becker is deeply involved in civic activities. She has been a board member of the Peace through Yoga Foundation since 2005 and organizes fundraising events featuring her artwork for the organization. Her volunteer work includes service with the Indianapolis Art Center and on the hospitality committee at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Her leadership was recognized during her tenure as chair of the Lilly Yoga Club from 2003 to 2004, when she was honored as "Chairperson of the Year." She has also held several other leadership roles, including Vice President of Yogis for India (2007–2008), Vice President of Membership for the Lilly Toastmasters Club (2003–2008), Vice President of the Information Center Management Association (1992), and Chair of the Indiana Yoga Association (2005).

Ms. Becker's creative talents are further showcased through various publications and projects. She was the cover artist for the book Spiritual Transformational Yoga, published in 2024, and co-authored the textbook Composing Technical Documents, used in the TCM 220 Technical Writing course in the School of Engineering at IUPUI from 1999 to 2005. Additionally, she contributed to and served on the editorial board of Genesis, IUPUI's award-winning literary journal, in 1983. The publication has received multiple "All-American" ratings—the highest honor awarded to student publications by the American Collegiate Press Association.

In her personal life, Ms. Becker cherishes time spent with her family, which includes two children and seven grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoys reading, painting, writing, practicing yoga, traveling, and singing and playing guitar. Looking ahead, she is focused on raising awareness of her foundation's volunteer efforts—empowering girls and women in the communities it serves—while also exploring strategies to enhance its social media presence and expand volunteer engagement.
