Ms. Tellado has carved a distinguished career in human resources, currently serving as a recruitment and staffing advisor at the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) since 2023. In this role, she advises her executive leader on procedures, policy setup, staffing and recruitment. Additionally, Ms. Tellado has been a freelance consultant specializing in medical billing and coding since 2008, showcasing her versatility and breadth of knowledge across different sectors.

Beginning her journey with FEMA in 2017, following the devastation of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico, this personal experience fueled Ms. Tellado's commitment to contribute to the recovery efforts. Initially, she supported researchers and colleagues with human resources inquiries and personnel support. Her dedication and potential were soon recognized, leading to a promotion as a specialist in compensation, benefits and retirement from 2019 to 2023. During this period, Ms. Tellado played a pivotal role in communicating benefits information across various management locations and was instrumental in participating as the first cohort of the Executive Leadership Program, where she later on became a Certified Executive Leader within DHS.

Before her tenure at FEMA, Ms. Tellado honed her skills as a human resources and workforce development manager at Houghton Mifflin Harcourt from 2018 to 2019. Her expertise was previously developed during her time as a human capital manager, instructional designer and trainer at Atlantic University between 2014 and 2015.

Ms. Tellado's academic background is extensive and diverse. She first earned a Bachelor of Science in biology from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico in 2008, followed by a Doctor of Jurisprudence in economics from the Pontifical Catholic University of Puerto Rico School of Law in 2011 and a second Doctor of Jurisprudence in international business, trade and tax law from Fundación José Ortega y Gasset-Gregorio Marañón in 2012. Ms. Tellado also secured a Bachelor of Education in secondary education and teaching from the University of Puerto Rico in 2014 and a Master of Business Administration in human resources management from NUC University in 2018.

Further underscoring her commitment to excellence, Ms. Tellado received credentials in federal talent acquisition from Management Concepts, project management certifications from AR Institute and Agile Ratio, a secondary science teacher certification from the U.S. Department of Education of Puerto Rico, and credentials as a certified billing and coding specialist from PUCPR.

In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Tellado is actively involved with several civic organizations. She has been a language tutor at Lucy Grillasca School since 2005 and has served as a project manager for career development and resume writing coaching since 2014. Ms. Tellado's dedication to community service was previously evident through her participation as a pro bono legal advocate in 2009.

Ms. Tellado's achievements have been recognized with several accolades. She was named a team leader at FEMA in 2024 and received awards for her contributions to the Executive Leadership Program. Her success is attributed to her self-belief, hard work, determination and the inspiration drawn from her mother.
