Ms. Verley is a distinguished professional in the field of nuclear operations and maintenance and environmental compliance, currently serving as a readiness leader subject matter expert (SME) at Boston Government Services (BGS) LLC. Since 2022, she has been an integral part of the Y-12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, where she works with project management and executive leadership teams to provide technical expertise. Her role involves observing and evaluating facility operations personnel in the field, reviewing technical publications, documenting issues, ensuring compliance with established requirements and collaborating with various departments, including engineering.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Verley supported the Hanford Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant (WTP) in Richland, Washington, from 2016 to 2022 as a senior field environmental facility support specialist and as a readiness assurance specialist at Amentum. Her career trajectory also includes significant contributions as a quality assurance specialist and performance assurance supervisor with Chicago Bridge & Iron/WECTEC at a commercial nuclear power plant build from 2013 to 2016.

Ms. Verley's earlier roles include serving as an operational readiness review coordinator after being promoted from readiness engineer, and environmental specialist III at URS Corporation from 2003 to 2013. Her foundational experience includes working for the Department of Environmental Quality for the State of Oregon as a permit compliance specialist from 1999 to 2003. She started her career in various industries, contributing to environmental compliance and wastewater/water treatment operations, most notably at J.R. Simplot Company and Hadco Corporation from 1996 to 1999.

Throughout her career, Ms. Verley is most proud of making the world a safer place through her work on Department of Defense (DoD) projects that led to the destruction of chemical weapons stockpiles, significantly enhancing global safety. Another of her notable achievements is driving cooperation between a regulatory body, academia and industry for the publication of her white paper, which focused on the application of industrial wastewater onto permitted land sites.

Ms. Verley's academic background includes earning a Bachelor of Science in physiography from Western Oregon State University in 1995. She has a deep passion for helping others beyond her professional life and she enjoys assisting individuals in finding suitable job placements, contributing positively to both companies and candidates alike.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. Verley is actively involved in civic activities. She has served as a board member on a local wastewater consortium, participated in trail cleanups and helped train and issue continuing education units for certified wastewater and water treatment operators. Her commitment to environmental awareness is further demonstrated through her fundraising efforts for the TennGreen Land Conservancy.

In the upcoming years, Ms. Verley is dedicated to advancing her professional skills and qualifications. She aspires to become the nuclear operations manager for BGS LLC and aims to achieve certification as a project management professional.
