Prior to his current position, Mr. Peace was the chief communication tech for the City of Gastonia from 2012 to 2017. During this time, he honed his skills in managing complex communication systems and played a pivotal role in integrating new equipment and infrastructure. His tenure as senior communications tech from 2010 to 2012 further solidified his reputation for excellence in the field.

Mr. Peace's career began with a strong foundation in law enforcement, serving as a deputy with the Cleveland County Sheriff's Department from 1984 to 1997. This experience provided him with valuable insights into the needs of police officers and the importance of effective communication systems. Concurrently, he has been a reserve police officer with the Shelby Police Department since 1997, demonstrating his enduring commitment to public safety.

His professional journey also includes a significant tenure with Motorola, where he spent more than 25 years gaining invaluable experience in communication technology. As a member of the Motorola Trunk User Group, Mr. Peace remains actively engaged with industry advancements and best practices.

Mr. Peace's educational background has been instrumental in his success. He holds a Master of Business Administration from Arizona University and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Additionally, he earned an Associate of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Cleveland Community College, along with associate degrees in criminal justice and related fields from Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, Blue Ridge Community College and Gaston College.

Mr. Peace has been recognized for his contributions to public safety communications throughout his career, including being honored as Officer of the Year, reflecting his dedication and impact on the community he serves.
