Her journey into the field was catalyzed by a traumatic event early in her journey when she was held at gunpoint while working as a part-time photographer at King of Prussia Mall. Though she initially intended to pursue a corporate executive role, the incident fueled her desire to achieve more and propelled her into martial arts training, where she later became an instructor.

Ms. Gilmurray's tenure in law enforcement was distinguished by numerous accolades, including the Trilogy Award from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (FBI-LEEDA) in 2020 and the Prosecutor's Achievement Medal in 2009. Her commitment to public service was further recognized with honors such as the Outstanding Service Award from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office and the Outstanding Woman in Somerset County Award in 2006.

Academically, Ms. Gilmurray holds a Master of Administrative Science from Farleigh Dickinson University, earned in 2004, and a Bachelor of Arts in communication and media studies with a concentration in public relations from Marist University, completed in 1993. To augment her knowledge and qualifications across multiple sectors, she obtained a certificate of criminal justice from Seton Hall University in 1998 and is certified as a black belt in karate, aikido and traditional jiu-jitsu.

To continue networking and stay aware of the latest developments in business ownership, Ms. Gilmurray is an active member of industry-related organizations such as Business Network International (BNI) and the Business Advantage Networking Group (BANG). She also continues to share her insights and experiences through speaking engagements on self-defense and empowerment seminars across various communities. A proud mother of two sons, Ms. Gilmurray is an avid competitive bodybuilder and public speaker who enjoys training in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, lifting weights, road biking, hot yoga and spending quality time with her family. She is currently working on writing a book titled "Chosen" and aims to earn a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, highlighting her determination to continue her personal growth while sharing her knowledge of health, nutrition and safety through various mediums.
