His journey began in 1990, following the completion of his master's degree in computer science from Savitribai Phule Pune University. It was during this time that he developed a profound interest in artificial intelligence, leading to the publication of a paper on neural networks. This early achievement set the stage for his future endeavors in the technology sector.

As the principal software architect at Cotality, Shri has been dedicated to enhancing customer experience through the application of artificial intelligence and modern techniques since 2025. His efforts are focused on significantly improving the Net Promoter Score, reflecting his commitment to driving innovation and excellence within the organization.

Prior to his role at Cotality, Shri held the position of principal enterprise architect at DirecTV and AT&T from 2011 to 2024. During his tenure, he was instrumental in establishing a groundbreaking business architecture practice that bridged communication and established a functional lineage between IT and business operations at AT&T. His leadership saw the expansion of his team from two members to eight within a year and a half, underscoring his ability to foster growth and collaboration.

In 2009 and 2010, Shri served as a senior technical architect for the USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service, where he adeptly navigated complex political landscapes while engaging with diverse clients, including government agencies. His implementation of a bi-weekly sprint system ensured consistent value delivery to clients while striving for long-term goals.

Shri's earlier roles include lead architect positions at Capital Group in 2009 and at Toyota Financial Services from 2007 to 2008. He also contributed significantly as an enterprise architect and solution architect at Herzum North America from 2000 to 2007, where he honed his skills in component-based development (CBD), service-oriented architecture (SOA), and CORBA / J2EE development and mentorship.

Throughout his career, Shri has achieved notable milestones, including securing a patent for a method and system for operating user-receiving devices with user profiles during his tenure at DirecTV, from 2014 to 2015. His pioneering work in cloud-based knowledge management architecture further solidified his reputation as an innovator in the field. Furthermore, Shri co-chaired the Electonic Commerce Domain Task Force (ECDTF) at the Object Management Group (OMG) in 1999-2000, and more recently was an active contributor on the Functional Framework WG as part of TMForum, both of which are a testimony to Shri's persevering effort in the creation and adoption of industry standards at various organizations such as Herzum North America, DirecTV and AT&T.

Beyond his professional achievements, Shri is actively involved in civic-minded organizations. He was a team member of a DirecTV volunteer group at Compton Elementary School from 2013 to 2015. Additionally, he served as a volunteer soccer coach for the SoCal Reds FC (Junior Reds). Lastly, as an amateur astronomer and astrophotographer, Shri enjoys participating in community star-gazing events to share his knowledge of the cosmos with kids and adults, fondly through his telescope and celestial camera. These experiences reflect his commitment to giving back to the community and fostering positive change.

Shri attributes much of his success to qualities such as patience, humility, curiosity and effective communication. He values patience as an essential trait that allows him to remain composed in challenging situations, while his curiosity drives him to seek clarity and understanding. Similarly, he enjoys mentoring others, adapting his communication style to meet individual needs and emphasizing the importance of soft skills in achieving success.
