Earlier in his career, Mr. Barrios practiced corporate law at Grupo Alcas (2012–2018) and worked in international legal operations at General Motors (2006–2008) in its Central America and Caribbean division. Mr. Barrios holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) from American University Washington College of Law (2005) and a Bachelor of Laws from Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico (2003). Complementing his credentials, he earned a diploma in legal assistant and paralegal studies from Rice University in 2022 to reinforce his transition into U.S. immigration law. Passing the Texas Bar in 2023 marks a notable dual legal qualification, having become licensed to practice in both Mexico and the United States.

His professional affiliations include membership in the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the State Bar of Texas. Throughout his legal career—across two countries—Mr. Barrios has consistently dedicated his efforts to supporting individuals facing legal and immigration challenges.

Beyond his legal work, Mr. Barrios values family life and enjoys tennis and outdoor gatherings with his three children. He credits much of his professional resilience to the support of his family, especially his wife and children.
