Before that, he was a senior auditor at Raffa PC from 2006 to 2007, where he gained valuable experience in auditing practices and financial analysis.

Dr. Demissie's career began in Ethiopia at the Commercial Bank of Ethiopia, one of the country's largest banking institutions. His journey continued as he pursued certifications in trust and public accounting in the United Kingdom. He also contributed to academia by teaching part-time at Addis Ababa University, where he earned his undergraduate degree in accounting in 1998.

Dr. Demissie's academic achievements have been instrumental in his professional success. He holds a Doctor of Business Administration with a specialization in financial management from National University, completed in 2025. He also earned a Master of Science in accounting from Strayer University in 2007 and a certificate in financial planning from the University of Virginia in 2014. These credentials have equipped him with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in his field.

Dr. Demissie is a certified public accountant accredited by the Virginia Board of Accountancy and a fellow chartered certified accountant with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. Additionally, he has been recognized as a certified financial planning professional by the CFP Board since 2016.
