Mrs. Seay has dedicated much of her life to community service and leadership, leaving an indelible mark on the Dallas area through her extensive volunteer work and professional endeavors.

Mrs. Seay has dedicated much of her life to community service and leadership, leaving an indelible mark on the Dallas area through her extensive volunteer work and professional endeavors. Her career began in education, where she supported students as a substitute teacher for the Dallas Independent School District while completing her master's thesis. Her dedication to education led to her appointment as an assistant principal within the same district, a role she held for two years before retiring to focus on taking care of her family.

In 1995, Mrs. Seay embarked on a new chapter as a community volunteer and leader, a role she continues to embrace. Her expertise in fundraising was instrumental in her success, most notably as co-chair of the Parkland Health Foundation's capital campaign. This initiative raised a remarkable $40 million for the Parkland Comprehensive Breast Center at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, a testament to her leadership and commitment to health care advancement. Deriving great satisfaction from the joy of helping others, she bases everything she does on the view that giving is better than receiving.

Mrs. Seay's educational background laid a strong foundation for her vocational and civic achievements. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education with minors in history and Spanish from Southern Methodist University, followed by a Master of Arts in history from the same institution. Her academic pursuits were steadfastly supported by her parents, whose love and encouragement played a crucial role in her accomplishments.

Beyond her storied efforts in education and health care initiatives, Mrs. Seay is an active member of community-centered organizations such as the Thanks-Giving Foundation and the executive board and steering committee of the Annette Caldwell Simmons School of Education and Human Development at Southern Methodist University. She is also affiliated with the Crystal Charity Ball, the Junior League of Dallas and the Dallas Woman's Club, reflecting her commitment to helping those in need through various mediums and initiatives.

Mrs. Seay's history of civic contributions is further highlighted by her board memberships with the Parkland Health Foundation, the Methodist Health System Foundation, the Betty Ford Center Foundation, Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas, and the Salvation Army. Her efforts to enhance her community have been recognized with numerous accolades, including the 2002 Macy's Heart and Soul Award and Operation Kindness' 2022 Champion for Animals Award. In 2020, she was honored with the Margot Perot Service Award, granted by the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary. Additionally, she received the Dallas Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals' 2003 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award and the 1998 Community Collaboration Award, which was presented by the Texas A&M University System.

In her personal life, Mrs. Seay cherishes her faith and time spent with her family, particularly her son and two grandsons. She also enjoys reading, traveling and socializing with her friends. Looking to the future with optimism, she remains as committed as ever to staying active and contributing to the betterment of her community. Her legacy is one of service, leadership, kindness and commitment to making a meaningful impact on everyone around her.
