In 2018, she briefly held the position of accountant and office manager at Canyons Entertainment LLC, where she managed office operations, payroll and accounts payable and receivable duties. From 2016 to 2017, she also served as an account assistant at LNS Professional Services, strengthening her capability in accounting, taxation and financial administration. Additionally, she served as a casino guest assistant and cage cashier at Carnival Corporation Plc from 2015 to 2016, further diversifying her experience in communications and financial transactions. Her journey spans diverse industries including public housing, logistics, entertainment, auditing and cruise line operations. Her multidisciplinary expertise has positioned her as a financial leader capable of navigating complex regulatory environments and leading strategic initiatives with precision.

Before immigrating to the United States in 2016, Ms. Perera began her storied career in Sri Lanka, where she worked as an assistant accountant at Hency Cargo Service (Pvt) Ltd from 2011 to 2013. During this time, she honed her skills in managing ledgers, AP, AR and preparing monthly financial statements. She also served as an auditor and accountant at Ariyaratne & Company, Chartered Accountants from 2008 to 2011, laying a strong foundation for her future success in finance and accounting.

Hailing from an equally accomplished academic background, Ms. Perera earned a chartered accountancy qualification from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka in 2010 and holds diplomas in office automation and graphic design from Asian Computer Systems & Business College. To expand her knowledge and qualifications, she is certified in crisis management, crowd management and human behavior by the Human Resources Management and Personnel Administration. Additionally, she was certified in accounting and business management by Carnival Corporation and obtained the certificate of management of acquisition from the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority in 2022.

Along with her education, Ms. Perera attributes her success to dedication, hard work and the unwavering encouragement of her parents and husband. Overcoming self-doubt about her capacity to handle upper-level roles and early struggles with English during her schooling in Sri Lanka, she takes great pride in becoming a fluent communicator and rising to become a respected financial professional.
