Academically, Mr. Lanning holds a Bachelor of Arts in communication studies from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, completed in 2015. He attributes much of his success to the university's communications department and acknowledges the influence of mentors like Bill Bass and long-standing colleagues at Primax Properties. He also credits his parents for instilling in him the values of hard work and dedication; from their guidance, he has come to understand that hard work always pays off and that understanding and nurturing one's strengths is the path to success.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Mr. Lanning is actively involved in civic activities, including fundraising for breast cancer awareness and volunteering at his church. In his free time, he enjoys spending time outdoors, particularly boating on lakes and rivers. He cherishes moments spent with his blended family of four children, especially traveling and exploring new places together.
