Since 2006, she has worked collaboratively to enforce the Fairfax County Zoning Ordinance, Virginia Property Maintenance Code, and Virginia Statewide Fire Prevention Code, managing broad responsibilities that include serving as a sworn officer of the court within the fire marshal's office to secure compliance with all regulations. Ms. Parsons's deep commitment to public safety is further reflected in her prior participation in the Strike Team, a specialized unit addressing multiple occupancy situations.

A passion for continuous learning and mentoring drove Ms. Parsons to serve as an adjunct professor in criminal justice at Gibbs College from 2006 to 2007. She holds both an associate degree in general studies from Mountain Empire Community College, completed in 1998, and a Bachelor of Science in administration of justice from the University of Virginia College at Wise, completed in 2000. She subsequently earned a Master of Science in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati in 2008. Ms. Parsons attributes much of her success to her abiding faith, a steadfast belief that has guided her through personal and professional challenges throughout her career, and family.

Ms. Parsons cites the completion of the Fire Marshal Academy as her most significant achievement thus far, as it significantly enhanced her analytical and communication skills and provided her with fresh industry insights. She is also proud to hold a range of vital professional credentials, including certifications such as Fire Inspector 1 and 2, achieved in 2016, and a certificate in paralegal studies from George Mason University dating to 2004. Ms. Parsons also maintains membership in several organizations, including the Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development and the Virginia Fire Services Board.

The pursuit of opportunities to engage in her community prompts Ms. Parsons to remain an active supporter of a local animal shelter. To achieve balance, she enjoys nature walks and landscaping, and she thrives on spending time with her dog and cats.
