A distinguished producer, director and consultant, Ms. Bennett has made significant contributions to the entertainment industry through her company, Wrangle Entertainment, LLC. Founded in 2013, Wrangle Entertainment has thrived under her leadership as she oversees production, client acquisition, screenplay evaluation, studio and project consultation, and global property selections. Through her expertise in branded content and narrative storytelling, she combines immersive fictional worlds with real-world concepts, allowing viewers to maintain their suspension of belief while experiencing poignant social and emotional messages.
Prior to founding Wrangle Entertainment, Ms. Bennett established inkFoot LLC in 2001, where she honed her skills in production coordination, business ownership and project management over 12 years. Her journey from coordinating large-scale events to leading her own company is a testament to her determination and tenacity—qualities she attributes to the influence of her parents, teachers and mentors who fortified her leadership skills and vision.
Ms. Bennett's storied career began at the age of five when she found her way to the stage, auditioning, rehearsing and performing daily, both in and out of school. By the time she was eleven, her passion for entertaining audiences expanded to television and film, including a natural progression to behind the camera. As a young visionary, she petitioned the state for funds and space to create a newsroom for her school, removing the antiquated intercom announcements and replacing them with live televised programming broadcast in every classroom and office in her middle school.
In 2000, Ms. Bennett served as the production coordinator for the Republican National Convention in Philadelphia. This role marked a pivotal moment in her life, furthering her appreciation for the complexities involved in production and live televised events. Her subsequent work on high-profile projects such as the West Point Bicentennial, The Smithsonian's National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) and acclaimed television series like "The Wire," "The West Wing" and HBO's "K Street" further solidified her reputation in film.
A member of the Producers Guild of America and the Writers Guild of America (WGA) as well as a signatory for the Screen Actors Guild–American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA), the Teamsters Union, the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) and the Directors Guild of America (DGA), Ms. Bennett has become a prominent figure in the entertainment industry. Her achievements have been recognized with several accolades, including awards from numerous film festivals and recognition as the youngest female producer inducted by the Producers' Guild of America.
Academically, Ms. Bennett earned two Bachelors of Arts, one in international economics and the other in communications/film from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she graduated magna cum laude in 1999. Pursuing a dual degree provided her with a unique perspective on both the economic and artistic aspects of storytelling through television and film creation. She has also been fortunate to gain invaluable experience throughout a career that has allowed her to travel around the world and experience various cultures, viewpoints and filmmaking techniques.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Ms. Bennett volunteers with organizations supporting United States veterans, the elderly and deaf communities, and English language learners. She is certified in CPR by the American Red Cross, further highlighting her devotion to helping those in need. In her personal life, Ms. Bennett enjoys cooking and hosting supper clubs for friends and family, visiting comedy and jazz clubs, exploring museums and traveling the globe. She also cherishes time spent with her fiancé, miniature dachshund, and her family, particularly her mother and father.
Looking to the future, she plans to open an East Coast-based backlot studio dedicated to supporting independent storytellers and to pursue her deep support of nonprofit organizations, including PBS, The Smithsonian Institution and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Additionally, she aims to lend her support to numerous film festivals both in the United States and overseas, such as Cannes and Sundance, as well as those held at universities. Ms. Bennett will continue to produce, direct, and write as well as conduct panels, workshops, speaking engagements and consultations. Her early inspiration for film, which was ignited at a young age when she watched "The Color Purple" with her sister, has driven her lifelong journey marked by creativity, resilience and an unwavering dedication to empowering others through storytelling.
