WAVERLY, OH, July 14, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- David M. Manuta, PhD, president of Manuta Chemical Consulting Inc., was selected by Marquis Who's Who for a prominent feature in the Washington/Baltimore Edition of The Wall Street Journal, published on May 22, 2025.

In 1998, Dr. Manuta founded Manuta Chemical Consulting Inc., which provides litigation support and expert testimony regarding incidents of arson and fire, hazardous material containment, safety consulting, water and soil testing, environmental impact, chemistry research, technical writing, physical science, and federal nuclear weapons workers' compensation investigations.

Dr. Manuta became interested in chemistry while studying at the State University of New York, Oneonta; he initially wanted to be a veterinarian. After completing a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1979, he continued his education at the State University of New York, Binghamton, where he earned a Doctor of Philosophy in chemistry in 1985. During his time in graduate school, he worked as a laboratory researcher and teaching assistant, and after completing his degree, he joined the faculty at Upper Iowa University, Fayette, where he taught until 1988. He spent a year teaching at Shawnee State University in Portsmouth, Ohio, before becoming a member of the research staff at United States Enrichment Corp. (USEC) in Piketon, Ohio, in 1990. Spending a decade with USEC, he gained experience in new areas, including fluorine and uranium chemistry, which inspired him to create Manuta Chemical Consulting Inc.

While running Manuta Chemical Consulting Inc., Dr. Manuta continued to work with other companies, serving as the director of Midwest Office InterCity Testing & Consultant Corp. from 2004 to 2010 and a senior consultant with Boson Technology Resources LLC from 2005 to 2014.

Reflecting on his work as a consultant, Dr. Manuta considers a career highlight to be proving the innocence of the defendant in a murder trial, saving the individual from a long jail sentence. In the trial, he testified on gunshot residue, which proved the defendant did not discharge a firearm and commit the murder. Dr. Manuta has been involved in several landmark cases, including one in Ohio, where he worked with the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) to stop the euthanasia gassing of dogs with carbon monoxide. This barbaric practice was stopped. He consulted on the case and served as an expert witness, working pro bono.

Alongside his consulting work, Dr. Manuta is a prolific author in his field. He has published numerous papers in industry journals, including "The chemistry associated with an exploding lead-acid battery," "The combustion of denatured alcohol and its role in a legal case" and "Embarking On Your Adventure in 'Real World' Chemistry." To remain current in his field, he maintains membership with organizations such as the American Institute of Chemists, of which he is a fellow, and the American Association for the Advancement of Science. In 2022, he was featured in the American Chemical Society's journal, Industry Matters, for his independent consulting work.

Moving forward, Dr. Manuta strives to continue to grow Manuta Chemical Consulting Inc. and to share his professional experience and knowledge with key decision-makers. In addition, he hopes to engage more in mentorship, ensuring the business' legacy while allowing him to step back from daily operations.
