She entered the field after earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oregon State University in 2007, preceded by a Bachelor of Science in animal sciences with a minor in chemistry in 2002. To enhance her qualifications in animal care, she obtained credentials as a certified Fear Free professional from Fear Free LLC and a RECOVER-certified CPR rescuer through the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care. Meanwhile, her memberships in the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association of Feline Practitioners, the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Oregon Veterinary Medical Association allow her to stay aware of the latest developments and best practices within the field.

Dr. Tran began her veterinary career at smaller practices, the first being Cat Care Ltd, where she was employed from 2007 to 2010. She practiced at Corvallis Cat Care from 2009 to 2016, during which time she accepted a managerial role at Tigard Animal Hospital. She worked at both clinics simultaneously from 2014 to 2016 and remained at the latter until 2018. At this point, Dr. Tran joined Banfield Pet Hospital, where she served as a veterinarian until 2021, taking on an additional role as chief of staff in 2020.

Dr. Tran briefly practiced as a locum veterinarian on a freelance basis in 2021 before joining Vetco Total Care as the company's area medical director that same year. She remained at Vetco until 2025 when she transitioned to AmeriVet Veterinary Partners, where she has served as a regional medical director since. In this role, Dr. Tran manages day-to-day operations, provides medical support to hospital teams, and ensures medical quality, patient safety and regulatory compliance.

Dr. Tran's work in all capacities reflects her longstanding dedication to maintaining high standards in veterinary care. She notes that her experience in corporate-owned hospitals has been particularly beneficial in providing her with opportunities for growth. These environments have ignited her passion for leadership and medical quality and fostered her development in these areas, offering resources and support often lacking in private practices. Now, in a regional leadership role, she values the unique benefits the corporate sector has provided in her development.

Dr. Tran also attributes her success to the unwavering support of her leaders and mentors. She acknowledges the significant role they have played in believing in her and encouraging her to step out of her comfort zone. Dr. Tran notes that the challenges associated with the profession have become even more pronounced in the post-COVID era, leading many doctors to leave the profession entirely. As such, her dedication to her colleagues is equal to that of the animals in her care, and she is gratified by the fact that her current position allows her to advocate for practitioners on a broader scale. Her primary goal is to champion doctors, ensuring they remain in the profession, stay engaged and are empowered to fulfill their purpose as veterinarians.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Dr. Tran appreciates the unique lifestyle that comes with living in the Portland area, particularly the diverse and exciting food scene. After eight years in the region, she still has countless restaurants left to explore, making dining out with friends and family a cherished activity. She also takes advantage of the Pacific Northwest's outdoor opportunities. Four years ago, Dr. Tran took up golf, and she spends her time on golf courses whenever the weather is favorable. Staying active is a priority for her, and she enjoys hiking on the area's many trails with her golden retriever. Additionally, she makes the most of her proximity to the coastal range by taking day trips to the beach, embracing the region's natural beauty and recreational opportunities.

Looking ahead, Dr. Tran envisions continuing her role as a regional medical director, with a focus on supporting AmeriVet's goals and vision while providing strong medical leadership for the West region. Although becoming a chief medical officer is a potential future step in her career trajectory, she remains open-minded to other opportunities that may arise.
