Before joining her facility, Ms. Askin began serving as a parent and wellness facilitator with CompassionPower starting in 2007. Her work in this capacity has enabled her to impart valuable knowledge on wellness and parenting, solidifying her reputation as an expert in family systems therapy, trauma treatment and eye movement desensitization (EMDR) and reprocessing for veterans, first responders and survivors of abuse. Ms. Askin's successful career journey was marked by her tenure as a resident in marriage and family therapy at The Marianne Clyde Center for Holistic Psychotherapy from 2014 to 2018. During this time, she refined her skills in professional counseling, laying the foundation for her future endeavors. Before pivoting into the therapy sector, Ms. Askin gained valuable experience as a senior corporate trainer at the World Institute for Nurturing Communications from 1998 to 2015, where she made significant contributions to developing effective communication practices.

Highly educated, Ms. Askin earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a master's degree in professional counseling from Liberty University. She also completed 500 hours of professional bodywork training at the Baltimore School of Massage (now Cortiva Institute Massage Therapy & Skincare Schools). Ms. Askin's certifications as a licensed professional counselor, licensed marriage and family therapist, and supervisor further underscore her expertise.

In addition to her professional commitments, Ms. Askin has been actively involved in civic-minded organizations including Group Support at Fauquier Family Shelter (now Family Shelter Services). She previously served as a counselor at Fauquier Free Clinic from 2015 to 2016, demonstrating her dedication to community service. She developed a diversion program for troubled youths through the court service unit.

Ms. Askin's success can be attributed to her hard work and the support of several mentors who believed in her potential. She envisions expanding her practice significantly in the coming years and increasing her speaking engagements. Ms. Askin has plans to train someone to take over the directorship of the Center for Holistic Psychotherapy, allowing her to focus on conducting more workshops. Her goal is to achieve advanced certification in EMDR, which she considers essential for her professional development, and provide this much needed treatment.
