Ms. Farris's commitment to this cause is deeply personal, driven by her desire to make a difference for her daughter, who has autism.
Before her leading role at Yamo Pharmaceuticals, Ms. Farris founded Naltou Pharma CMC Consulting LLC in Mount Airy, Maryland, in 2023. As an executive chemistry, manufacturing and controls (CMC) consultant, she assists small pharmaceutical companies and startups in overseeing the manufacturing and development of products as well as support their regulatory needs. Ms. Farris's guidance helps these entities strategize effectively to bring their products to market.
From 2020 to 2025, Ms. Farris served as the senior director of CMC at Atossa Therapeutics Inc. in Seattle. Her tenure there was preceded by a role as the senior manager of CMC in global regulatory affairs vaccines at GSK in Rockville, Maryland, between 2017 and 2020. Ms. Farris's experience in these positions honed her skills in regulatory compliance and product development on a global scale.
Ms. Farris's earlier career included significant contributions with organizations like Cerecor Inc. in Baltimore as a senior director of CMC from 2015 to 2017 and Vanda Pharmaceuticals in Washington, D.C., as an associate director of CMC between 2011 and 2015. It was during her time at Vanda Pharmaceuticals that she achieved one of her most notable career milestones, which involved bringing HETLIOZ®, a treatment for Non-24-Hour Sleep-Wake Disorder in the totally blind, from Phase 2 trials to market approval by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and by the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA).
Ms. Farris's professional journey began with roles focused on quality control and analytical chemistry. She worked as a quality control lab analyst at Noramco from 2002 to 2003. She also held positions at Shire and the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory between 2006 and 2009 and was a quality control chemist III at Eisai Inc. from 2009 to 2011.
Laying a strong foundation for her career achievements, Ms. Farris completed a Bachelor of Science in chemistry in 1999 and a Master of Science in geochemistry in 2002 from the University of Delaware. Her educational pursuits were inspired by her father, a chemical and materials engineer who introduced her to the world of experiments and scientific inquiry from a young age.
In addition to her professional endeavors, Ms. Farris is an active member of industry-related organizations, such as the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society and the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists. These affiliations demonstrate her commitment to staying informed about industry developments and contributing to the broader scientific community.
