Overall, he is most proud of his role in the approval of sutimlimab, a drug targeting the classical complement pathway.
Prior to his current role, Dr. Storek served as the Director and Head of Complement Technologies at AdMIRx, now known as Q32 Bio Inc., in 2019. His expertise was further enhanced during his time as a consultant from 2016 to 2018, where he provided valuable insights and guidance to various organizations within the industry.
From 2011 to 2016, Dr. Storek held the position of Associate Director at Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc., where he contributed significantly to the company's research and development endeavors, including his work on fosdenopterin, which is now an approved medicine for a metabolic disorder. Before that, he was the Senior Associate Director of research at Taligen Therapeutics, now part of Alexion Pharmaceuticals Inc., for one year. His journey with this firm began in 2009 as an Associate Scientific Director of protein engineering.
Dr. Storek's academic background is equally impressive, having earned a doctorate in Chemical Biology from Harvard University. He also holds a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and chemistry, respectively, from Charles University in Prague, which he completed before coming to the United States.
Beyond his professional pursuits, Dr. Storek is actively involved with civic-minded organizations, such as World Vision Inc., where he is a supporter. Additionally, he supports several cultural events in the Czech Republic. He is also interested in the history, art, and philosophy of the French Enlightenment, with a particular focus on Jean Jacques Rousseau.
