Ms. Smith is a distinguished professional with a robust career in strategic management, organizational leadership and design thinking. As the chief operating officer at the National Association of Chronic Disease Directors (NACDD) since 2022, she has overseen company operations and employee productivity while promoting an inclusive culture. Her role involves managing several key areas, including communications, member services, meetings and events, procurement and contracts and information technology. Her expertise in problem-solving has been instrumental in ensuring that team members thrive and that the organization successfully achieves its goals.

Prior to her current position, Ms. Smith served as the senior director of project management and member services at NACDD from 2020 to 2022. During the preceding year, she held the role of director of membership and project management, where she established a formal project management office to better meet the needs of the organization's members. Her earlier roles at NACDD include a two-year tenure as senior manager of member engagement and another two-year tenure as member engagement and creative services manager. She began her journey with NACDD as a creative design lead from 2011 to 2014.

Before joining NACDD, Ms. Smith was a partner at SAE Design Studio Inc. from 2004 to 2012, where she honed her skills in interior design. Her career in design also includes a role as project design lead at KDA Holdings Inc. from 2002 to 2004 and an interior designer position at Munro Design Associates for the preceding two years.

Ms. Smith's academic achievements have significantly contributed to her success. She holds a Master of Business Administration, completed in 2018, and a Master of Science in management and leadership, obtained in 2016, both from Western Governors University. Additionally, she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in interior design from American InterContinental University and completed coursework in management at Georgia Institute of Technology. Her education is complemented by a certificate in project management from Georgia State University's J. Mack Robinson College of Business.

Outside her professional life, Ms. Smith is dedicated to civic involvement and thought leadership. She has been an official member of the Forbes Nonprofit Council since 2023 and serves on the board of directors for the Atlanta Chapter of the Project Management Institute. She is also a supporter of charities for underserved and unhoused communities.

Throughout her career, Ms. Smith's contributions have been recognized with numerous accolades. She was named one of the "People on the Move" by Atlanta Business Chronicle in 2024 and a "Woman To Watch" by Black Leaders Worldwide in the same year. Overall, she credits her success to her attitude toward learning, continuing to absorb new information and pursue education throughout her life.

In her personal life, Ms. Smith enjoys playing tennis, traveling and spending quality time with her family. In the upcoming years, she plans to establish her own enterprise that will provide executive-level support to small and mid-sized businesses, focusing on enhancing their operational effectiveness and strategic growth.
