Ms. Gutierrez Castañeda brings over 25 years of experience in the construction industry, with a broad portfolio that includes residential, commercial, and healthcare projects. She began working in the field even before earning her bachelor's degree in architecture in 1998 from Universidad La Gran Colombia, attending classes at night while gaining hands-on experience during the day. In 2012, she also earned a master's degree in Comprehensive Construction Management from Escuela de Ingenieros Militares.

Her early career in Colombia included leadership and supervisory roles with several respected firms, such as Construnova SA, Sistemas y Asesorías de Construcción SA, Promotora Apotema SAS, Prabyc Engineers LTDA, and SAINC Engineer Builders SA. Through these positions, she developed strong skills in managing complex construction projects, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality results from planning to execution.

Since relocating to the United States in 2018, Sandra has focused primarily on high-end residential construction. She worked with Grandway Construction until mid-2024 as an assistant superintendent. Currently, she serves as a Superintendent at Stephen Bloom Construction, where she plays a key role in the remodeling of a historic mansion in the Beverly Hills area. This project presents a significant technical challenge, and she supports the project manager in overseeing construction activities, drawing on her dual background in architecture and construction management.

Known for her problem-solving mindset, integrity, and attention to detail, Sandra brings a collaborative leadership style to every project she undertakes. Her architectural background combined with her construction management expertise allows her to bridge the gap between design vision and on-site execution.

Looking ahead, Sandra envisions founding her own architectural and construction firm, designing and building her dream home, and contributing to projects that support children and families in Colombia. She has a deep passion for discovering new cultures and architectural traditions and hopes to one day travel the world to experience the many ways architecture is expressed globally. She actively seeks opportunities that broaden her perspective, challenge her professionally, and support her growth as both a person and a leader—valuing the guidance of experienced professionals along the way.

In her free time, she enjoys drawing, reading, biking, exercising, hiking with her children, and spending time at the beach — a place she feels deeply connected to and truly loves.
