Her educational background includes a master's degree in curriculum and instruction with an emphasis in linguistic diversity from the University of Colorado, completed in 2008.

Throughout her career, Ms. Mundell has been actively involved in professional organizations, such as the National Education Association and the Local Education Association. Her dedication to the profession has been recognized through awards like the Integrity Award from Jeffco Public Schools in 2007 and the Professionalism Award for the 2024/2025 school year. Additionally, she received an accolade for her work with the Jefferson County Education Association when Colorado passed a new Senate bill regarding evaluations and tenure.

Beyond her professional commitments, Ms. Mundell is deeply involved in civic work as a Girl Scout leader for her daughter's troop. Her personal life is also enriched by hobbies such as gardening with both vegetables and flowers, traveling and enjoying the tranquility of nature in the mountains.

Ms. Mundell attributes much of her success to the support and encouragement she received from her first two teammates when she began teaching in 2004. Their mentorship helped her navigate the challenges of time management and inspired her to provide similar support to new teams throughout her career. The influence of her parents, both retired teachers, also played a significant role in guiding her path in education, along with her brother, who has always provided support.

Looking ahead, Ms. Mundell aims to continue her role as a classroom teacher while developing stronger co-teaching relationships with returning teammates. She is also focused on supporting her daughter as she explores college options and completes applications. Balancing these personal goals with professional responsibilities remains a priority for her as she continues to make meaningful contributions to the field of education.
