During his tenure, he played a pivotal role in helping streamline the permitting process for solar installations, part of the Tesla team helping the industry with the development of SolarAPP. This initiative aimed to simplify and expedite the approval process for solar projects, thereby accelerating the transition to renewable energy across various states and jurisdictions within the U.S.

From 2015 to 2017, Mr. Murcia served as an engineering team lead at SolarCity. He initially joined SolarCity in 2012 as a regional photovoltaic designer, where he focused on residential projects and played a key role in designing blueprints for solar and battery backup systems. His work at SolarCity marked a significant shift from his earlier focus on commercial designs, reflecting his dedication to making a meaningful difference in the residential renewable energy sector.

Mr. Murcia's career in renewable energy began with roles such as project engineer at Conergy AG from 2011 to 2012 and solar design engineer at Premier Power Renewable Energy from 2010 to 2011. These positions allowed him to gain valuable experience in commercial solar system designs and further solidified his commitment to the industry. An internship with Ecostream US Incorporated sparked his journey into renewable energy during his studies at California State University, Sacramento.

Mr. Murcia holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical and electronic engineering from California State University, Sacramento, which he completed in 2009. His educational background laid the foundation for his successful career in renewable energy. The support of his family has been instrumental throughout his journey, providing motivation and encouragement that have driven him to excel in his field.

In addition to his professional achievements, Mr. Murcia is actively involved in industry-related organizations. He is a founding member of the Sacramento State University student Chapter of Engineers Without Borders. He has been affiliated with the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers and the National Society of Black Engineers. These memberships demonstrate his dedication to promoting diversity and collaboration within the engineering community.
