In preparation for her future, Dr. Camardella received a Bachelor of Science in economics from Illinois Wesleyan University in 2003. Subsequently, she received a master's degree in traditional oriental medicine in 2011 and a Doctor of Philosophy in acupuncture in 2018 from Pacific College of Health and Science. Additionally, Dr. Camardella holds certifications as a licensed acupuncturist and a credentialed holistic financial coach from Teachers College, Columbia University.

Dr. Camardella's commitment to acupuncture is further exemplified by her tenure as the president of the Illinois Association of Acupuncture & Oriental Medicine. In this capacity, she advocated for legislative changes to protect acupuncture practices and ensure their inclusion in Medicaid within Illinois. Dr. Camardella's efforts contributed to the recognition of acupuncture as a legitimate treatment option, particularly in light of the opioid epidemic.
