As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Recently retired, Ms. McGreevy-Nichols NDEO Emeritus Executive Director May 2012 - June 2025 has established herself as a prominent figure in the field of dance education. Her role involves supporting NDEO's Online Professional Development Institute and collaborating with professors to create dance courses that adhere to established formatting and branding. Before starting her initial role at NDEO as president from 2009 to 2011, Ms. McGreevy-Nichols honed her leadership skills during her five-year presidency at Inspire Teaching and Learning in Santa Monica, California, where she focused on educational consulting and strategic planning. She also held the position of senior partner at The Griffin Center for Inspired Instruction in Aspen, Colorado, from 2009 to 2010, during which she engaged with school districts and organizations to improve educational outcomes. Additionally, she served as the national director of planning and school support at The Galef Institute from 2003 to 2005, playing a pivotal role in professional training and coaching.

The first half of Ms. McGreevy-Nichols' storied career includes a tenure of nearly 30 years as an educator at Roger Williams Middle School, where she served from 1974 to 2002. During this time, she developed a nationally recognized dance program that became an influential model for other schools. Her innovative approach emphasized a combination of creativity, response, performance and connection, which led to significant student participation and success. Beyond her work in middle school education, she contributed as a collegiate-level adjunct professor at Loyola Marymount University and California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Ms. McGreevy-Nichols' own academic background includes a Bachelor of Science in physical education and health from the University of Rhode Island in 1974. Her passion for dance was ignited during her studies there, leading her to pursue a career in dance education despite facing a challenging job market. Along with her education, her ability to foster connections and identify effective methods for accomplishing tasks has been a cornerstone of her success.

In addition to her professional achievements, Ms. McGreevy-Nichols is an accomplished author and co-author of several publications on dance education. She has contributed to a K-12 magazine column for five years and co-authored the 2004 book "Experiencing Dance: From Student to Dance Artist," which encourages dance students and teachers to enhance their critical thinking skills through various lessons and exercises. While acknowledging that everyone learns at their own pace and through diverse methods, she is happy to see her written works continue to serve as reference materials for educators and textbooks for high school students.

Looking to the future with optimism, Ms. McGreevy-Nichols plans to engage in consulting work and travel more frequently.
