CHESAPEAKE, VA, July 30, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Brian D. Ferguson, PMP, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. Mr. Ferguson has carved out a distinguished career in the aerospace industry, having served as an aerospace flight systems engineer at NASA since 2020. In this role, he leads project management, systems engineering, and risk management efforts for the CLARREO Pathfinder mission, ensuring compliance with project milestones and facilitating independent review boards for unbiased evaluations. His leadership in coordinating cross-functional teams to integrate various engineering disciplines has been instrumental in advancing NASA's mission objectives. Prior NASA roles include Systems Engineering and Integration Lead within the Dragonfly mission and collaborative research and development efforts with the FAA regarding the future of the National Airspace System.

Mr. Ferguson's tenure at NASA is marked by his contributions to groundbreaking projects that have not only advanced scientific understanding but also fostered a collaborative and innovative work environment. His ability to bring people together and encourage a culture of learning and growth among his colleagues has been pivotal in maintaining NASA's reputation as a top federal workplace for 13 consecutive years.

Prior to his current position, Mr. Ferguson was a project engineer at Leonardo DRS Naval Electronics from 2018 to 2020. During this time, he honed his skills in managing complex engineering projects in government and military contract manufacturing, further solidifying his expertise in the field. For the preceding two years, he served as a project manager, contract manager and electrical engineer contractor supporting US Coast Guard aviation at the USCG Aviation Logistics Center.

Mr. Ferguson's early career includes an internship at Virginia Beach Public Works in 2015, where he gained valuable experience in public sector engineering projects. This was preceded by his role as the NASA RockSat-C project manager for the Old Dominion University Sounding Rocket Payload Team from 2014 to 2015, resulting in two successful research payloads aboard NASA sounding rocket flights out of Wallops Flight Facility in 2014 and 2015. His foundational experience began at the University of Kansas studying History and Economics from 2003-2006, where in 2005 he entered the US Navy Delayed Entry Program, being called to active duty in 2006. It was his US Navy active-duty service as an Aviation Electrician's Mate from 2006 to 2011 working on F-18C/D aircraft where he developed a keen interest in aerospace, electrical, and systems engineering.

Academically, Mr. Ferguson holds a Master of Engineering in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia, earned in 2019, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Old Dominion University, completed in 2015. In addition to his formal education, he holds an AI & ML BlackBelt Plus certification from Analytics Vidhya and is a Project Management Institute (PMI) certified Project Management Professional.

Mr. Ferguson has held active memberships with several industry-related organizations, including the Military Operations Research Society (MORS), International Council on Systems Engineering (INCOSE) and is an active member of PMI. In recognition of his many professional achievements, he is a three-time NASA Achievement Award recipient for Digital Engineering, Model-Based Systems Engineering, and research & development assessment efforts. Reflecting on his career, he attributes much of his success to continuous improvement, constant learning, teamwork, and celebrating small wins in the context of achieving the larger mission.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mr. Ferguson is a passionate husband and dedicated father of two daughters. The Ferguson family was in the Christian cheerleading community for over seven years before founding Cheer Dads United, a non-profit organization supporting youth athletics and promoting active father involvement through event sponsorships, team fundraising, and philanthropy. Cheer Dads United is a resource aimed at building stronger families and confident kids, supporting cheer families nationwide. He envisions creating a network that not only supports children but also fosters community among parents navigating the challenges of competitive cheerleading.
