Before being named to her current position, Ms. Streett served as the summer school lead principal at Winchester Public Schools in 2023. From 2021 to 2023, she served as an alternative education teacher on campus, taking on the role of summer school lead administrator in 2022. Ms. Streett's tenure at Warren County Public Schools between 2015 and 2021 saw her excel as a mathematics alternative education teacher, demonstrating her versatility and passion for teaching.
Ms. Streett's educational journey began in Pasco County, Florida, where she taught agriculture at a middle school from 2000 to 2007. However, her love for mathematics led her to transition into teaching mathematics and science after relocating to Virginia, where she taught for Shenandoah County Public Schools until 2015.
In preparation for her future, Ms. Streett initially earned a Bachelor of Science in agriculture with a concentration in wildlife ecology and conservation from the University of Florida in 1997. She later earned a master's degree in educational administration and supervision from Liberty University in 2023, achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA. This accomplishment is particularly significant given that she balanced her studies with her responsibilities as a working, single mother. Additionally, Ms. Streett holds over five teaching certifications, which have been instrumental in her professional success.
Ms. Streett's commitment to education is further evidenced by her active membership in AASA, The School Superintendents Association, and the Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. Beyond the classroom, she is involved in civic organizations, including membership in her local Lutheran church.
In light of her success, Ms. Streett's excellence in education has been recognized with several awards, including the Rotarian Award for Excellence in Educating Youth, being named Teacher of the Year. She has also received grants for virtual learning initiatives at Warren County Public Schools and project-based learning materials at Winchester Public Schools. Looking ahead, Ms. Streett envisions advancing to roles such as principal or director of instruction for the district, where she can continue to share her expertise and support teachers in meeting their students' needs.
