ALTO PASS, IL, August 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Mark R. Warnsing has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Mr. Warnsing's career is marked by a series of significant roles and accomplishments, each contributing to his esteemed reputation in the legal and public service sectors. His most notable position was as an attorney in the Illinois Governor's Office from 1995 to 2003, including serving as Deputy General Counsel for Public Safety from 2001 to 2003. During his tenure, he addressed a wide array of issues, advising the governor on legislative, executive clemency and legal matters. His influence was particularly notable in shaping the criminal code, where he left a lasting impact.

Mr. Warnsing also served as Deputy Director of the Il. Legislative Reference Bureau. In this capacity, he was instrumental in mentoring young attorneys, sharing his wealth of experience to guide them through their early careers. His ability to listen attentively and provide insightful advice was frequently remarked upon by colleagues and mentees alike.

In 2007, Mr. Warnsing was approached by IL Senate staff to assist with a major rewrite of the Illinois criminal code—a project that quickly grew into a five-year, bipartisan effort he ultimately led. Trusted by both parties for his integrity and strong relationships, he oversaw the drafting of a comprehensive overhaul that culminated in the passage of the Criminal Code of 2011. In recognition of his work, he was appointed Deputy Director of the Illinois Legislative Reference Bureau, where he served until his retirement in 2018.

Early in his career, Mr. Warnsing contributed as an assistant state's attorney before moving into a role on the Illinois State Senate Judiciary Committee's criminal law committee for the Republican side. He was also a member of the Illinois Prisoner Review Board from 2003 to 2004.

Mr. Warnsing's journey into law began with his education at Drake University Law School, where he earned his Juris Doctor in 1982. His admission to law school was a pivotal moment in his career, achieved through a rigorous conditional program that required exceptional academic performance. This experience instilled in him the values of hard work and meticulous preparation, qualities that now define his professional life.

Before pursuing law, Mr. Warnsing completed a Bachelor of Science in agriculture at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign in 1977. During his undergraduate years, he was actively involved with the College of Agriculture and participated in various extracurricular activities, including the IlliDell chapter of Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity and the poultry judging team. Inspired by his early fascination with public service and the legacy of Abraham Lincoln in his home state, he became the first in his family to earn a four-year college degree, setting him on a path toward a legal career.

In addition to his formal education, Mr. Warnsing's upbringing on a small farm played a crucial role in shaping his work ethic and approach to challenges, with the diverse tasks he undertook on the farm teaching him resilience and adaptability. He particularly learned that he could accomplish anything that he put his mind to through that experience. Outside of his professional life, he cherishes time spent with his wife and enjoys fishing as a hobby.
