LOUISVILLE, KY, August 05, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Liz Blandford, PE, has been selected for inclusion in Marquis Who's Who. As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process.

Ms. Blandford has established a distinguished career in the engineering and consulting industry, currently serving as the office manager and principal engineer at ECS Southeast LLC, part of the ECS Group of Companies. Since 2021, she has been instrumental in solving complex problems related to soils, rocks and construction materials. Her role involves guiding clients through potential project sites and ensuring optimal outcomes for their ventures. Her journey with ECS began in 2018 when ECS acquired the local company that she was working at and was quickly promoted to the geotechnical department manager, a position she held until 2021. During this time, she demonstrated exceptional leadership and technical expertise, which led to her promotion as the second female and youngest branch manager in the company's history at that time.

Before her tenure at ECS Southeast, Ms. Blandford honed her skills as a project engineer at GEM Engineering Inc. from 2011 to 2018, which was the position she obtained after graduating from engineering school. Prior to that, she gained valuable industry exposure through co-op positions at CH2M Hill (now Jacobs) in 2009 (summer semester) and Qk4 Inc. in 2008 (spring and fall semesters).

Ms. Blandford's academic achievements have played a significant role in her professional success. She earned a Master of Engineering in structural engineering with highest honors from the University of Louisville in 2011, following a Bachelor of Science in engineering with a focus on civil engineering from the same institution in 2010. Additionally, she holds certifications as a Professional Engineer from the Kentucky Board of Engineers & Land Surveyors and Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.

Dedicated to continuous learning and professional development, Ms. Blandford is actively involved in industry-related organizations, such as the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers (KYSPE), the National Society of Professional Engineers (NSPE), and the Geoprofessional Business Association (GBA). Ms. Blandford is also a member of several local professional organizations that include the Louisville Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC), Louisville Chapter of Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), and Women in Commercial Real Estate (WCRE). She has also contributed civically as a board member of Women Networking For A Cause (WNC). To help the next generation of geotechnical engineers, she also volunteers her time to teach and mentor students in geotechnical engineering enrolled in the Master's Level Capstone Program at the University of Louisville each year.

In recognition of her success, Ms. Blandford was nominated for the Global Leadership Program, highlighting her influence within the engineering community. Her success can be attributed to her hard work, determination, continuous learning and admission to gaps in her knowledge. Additionally, her willingness to learn new things and provide solutions for others has solidified her reputation as a reliable resource within her field.

In her personal life, Ms. Blandford enjoys painting, drawing and various arts and crafts as hobbies, as well as relaxing with friends and family. She is also devoted to her home life that includes spending quality time with her parents, husband, two stepdaughters, and long-time friends. Ms. Blandford would like to note that without the support of her family and friends, especially her parents, she would not have been able to achieve the successes in her career that she has obtained thus far. In the upcoming years, she aims to expand her career beyond Louisville and Kentucky to encompass broader regions, including Indiana, Ohio, the Midwest and the Southeast. She further aspires to be recognized as an expert for anyone facing soil-related challenges and seeks to inspire young women to pursue engineering, arts and STEM careers, believing that success in these fields is fully attainable in today's more inclusive landscape.
