Marked by his tenure of more than a decade at Alstom, which specializes in the manufacturing and production of sustainable railway transportation solutions, Mr. Gopela has established a distinguished career in the engineering sector. In his current role as Product Introduction Director, he ensures that his team operates efficiently on assigned tasks and strategically makes business decisions regarding bid standards, research and development, and input for potential customers. He oversees five active national projects and two international projects, demonstrating his adeptness in global and team supervision, product management, execution and process improvements.

Prior to reaching his current position at Alstom, Mr. Gopela was the Product Introduction Portfolio Manager from 2021 to 2022. His responsibilities included managing project portfolios, liaising between project management executives and customers and overseeing risk mitigation and customer satisfaction plans. From 2019 to 2021, he served as the Performance and Process Improvement Lead at Alstom, where he focused on Technical and Engineering Management support for various rail projects and service delivery centers across the globe. He began his tenure at Alstom in 2014 as a Field Site Engineer for four years, gaining invaluable experience in testing systems and compliance with city and airport regulations.

Mr. Gopela honed many of his management skills at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., where he held several positions from 2009 to 2014. As a Systems Performance Manager from 2012 to 2014, he was responsible for optimizing system functionalities and managing performance analysis. He also served as a Senior Engineer for the Systems Performance Management Team from 2011 to 2012 and as a Senior Engineer of Operation Control Systems from 2010 to 2011.

Before venturing onto his vocational path, Mr. Gopela earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronics and Communications Engineering from Saint Louis University in the Philippines, completed in 2007. During his time in college, he also worked as a crew member at McDonald's to support his studies; his motivation for pursuing an engineering career stems from the influence of his mother, who ensured that he possessed the necessary tools to succeed. Dedicated to the ideals of lifelong learning, he is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Electronics Engineering with a Specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, expected in 2026, as well as a Master of Business Administration.

To expand his professional qualifications, Mr. Gopela was certified as a licensed Professional Electronics Engineer by the Philippines' Professional Regulation Commission in 2017 and holds the title of Professional Engineer from the Nevada State Board of Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors. Additionally, he is recognized as an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Engineer, an ASEAN Chartered Professional Engineer (ACPE) and an Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Engineer by the ASEAN and APEC regional organizations. Mr. Gopela was also a member of The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and Associate Member of The Institution of Railway Signal Engineers (IRSE) in United Kingdom, and member of The Institution of Engineers Australia.

Also committed to making an impact through civic involvement and industry associations, Mr. Gopela is an Industry Advisory Board member for the School of Engineering and Architecture at Saint Louis University in the Philippines and a Professional Interviewer for Advanced Level Engineer competency standards with the Philippine Technological Council. Additionally, his leadership roles include serving as Pioneer and Chairman of the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines' (IECEP) National Specialty Societies since 2024 and Charter Governor and Member of IECEP – Americas Chapter established last 2022.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to the global engineering profession, Mr. Gopela has been honored with accolades including the Certificate of Excellence and Distinction Award by the Philippine Federation of Professional Associations in 2023. Two years earlier, he was named Outstanding Electronics Engineer by the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines Inc.

Happily married and a proud father of one son and one daughter, Mr. Gopela enjoys walking trails, biking, experiencing nature and spending quality time with his children.
